This place is great! VERY small (only about five tables plus the sushi bar). Be prepared to wait in line-it’s worth it. The sushi bar is in the back of a Japanese grocery store. Everything is extremely fresh and delicious. No swanky surroundings here, but the atmosphere is sort of timeless and comforting.

This is a small, family run restaurant. The sushi is fresh and good but there is nothing innovative or different. A great place for a quick bite to eat. No alcohol served here.

Formerly Woodruffs, Oak City Grille is a sort of bistroish environ. Live music starts around 9pm. on a stage set above the bar. This is a great place for drinks with friends or a date.

This family owned restaurant sits in the shadow of the better known Xochimilco, however it is leagues above when it comes to food and atmosphere. There is a great outdoor patio in the summer months with live music on the weekends. Their chips and salsa are made fresh and come as soon as you sit down. The buffet is stocked with all the favorites, such as tamales, quesadillas and tostadas. They usually have chicken mole on Sundays. This is a great place to come with the family- kids love watching the ladies make the tortillas in the front of the restaurant. Be sure to ask for a plate of these fresh tortillas with your buffet- terrific!

Packed on game nights but if you will look around, you won’t see too many Mexican Americans eating at this restaurant. Mostly it is the suburbanites, cautiously venturing downtown. The food is very mainstream, which would account for the clientel.
