How can you NOT try a restraunt with an address on Blood Alley?
Salt is a tasting room specializing in artisinal cheese, small-batch cured meats, and great wines. The concept is unique. Great condiments to accompany your “meal”. Wait staff was friendly, efficient and helpful in pairing wines with all the dishes. If you like meat, cheese and wines I highly suggest you try this place out. Overall a great expeirience

My first visit here after reading it as a new up and coming restraunt in enroute magazine. Decor is kinda cool and the food presentation was great. Kobe beef was not as flavourful as I would have expected. Server suggested the flounder sashimi which was excellent. Very fresh and delicate. Mackrel sashimi was also very tasty. Not your typical Izakaya but worth the trip. Prices were reasonable.

I recently ate at Blue Hill. The entrance was a little crowded and akward to manuever with people coming and going at. The decor is muted but nice. I ordered the tasting menu so as best to see the range of dishes offered. I was not disappointed by any of them and was wowed only by the desset. Scallops were nicely cooked with a good mix of flavours. The capon was moist but was slightly salty for my liking. The pork dish was actually very good. Crispy on the outside, tender pink and juicy on the inside. Dessert was an apple tart which was excellent. The portions are small (butI didnt leave hungry). There are so many great places in NYC that I probably would not head back anytime soon but I certainly would recommend it as the food was very good, service was decent (though there was a bit long of a wait between dishes IMO), and the price was quite reasonable for what you got.

I agree a bit overrated. Ambience is great. We sat upstairs overlooking th emain dining room and large communal table. It worked for us but if you really want to feel part of the action make sure you request a table on the main dining floor. Found the food good for the most part. Had the edamame dumplings which were actually very tasty but I found the texture a bit bizzare (like baby food). Scallion pancakes were very different from your usual fare but the presentation and tastes worked very well. Thew chow fun was very average. Sugar snap peas were cooked perfectly (nice and crisp) and had a nice flavour but they would have benefited from a bit of zing (ie chilis for me). Charred filet of beef was also quite good though nothing unique. All in all a good meal I would give it 3.5 stars if I could.

Have always wanted to try this place and finally got around to it on my last trip to NYC. We had a great corner table in the back (i strongly suggest getting one in the back). Love the feel and vibe of the place. Was there for lunch and arrived at 12pm. By 1230 th eplace was packed. Service was very good. The salad I had was fresh and tasty. I went with the steak frites main and it was cooked as ordered. It was a little big for my appetite and came with a load of nicely cooked not overly greasy fries. Dessert was a share of the warm chocolate cake which was nothing special. I would go back and further explore the menu.
