Cuban food at its best!

Cute place in the middle of N.Bergen. The music and staff make you feel as if you are in Cuba. They even have live music at around 8:30 p.m. We had a pitcher of Sangria for $18. Had about 3 glasses each and still could not finish it, felt tipsy though. The service was great. The waitress was attentive yet gave us our space. Food was exceptional. We had fried calamari $8 with a tomato pepper sauce which was on the average side. the calamari was not breaded well. That just may be my own preference though. We then had the Mahi Mahi $16 in coconut sauce with vegetables and mashed potatoes on the side. The sauce was tomato based with a subtle hint of sweetness. My husband had the Churrasco/Skirt Steak $22 with sweet plantains on the side and a parsley, garlic, olive oil, lemon dip. Out of this world. The steak was cooked well on the outside and as a result sealed the juices in. The beef was tender and melted in your mouth. This was all too much for us and we doggy bagged 1/2 of it home. The desserts $6 were also good and plentiful. I Would definitely go back again! It’s a must! Do check out this fine restauraunt you won’t be disappointed.

The sauce was tomato based with a subtle hint of sweetness and peppers. The fish was soft and flaky. The meal was accompanied by a side of mashed potatoes and vegetables that were rather tasty.

Out of this world! Grilled to perfection, sealing in all of the tender beef and juices. Enough steak to feed three people. It was accompanied by a parsley, lemon, garlic and olive oil dip. Delicious! I’m going to have to make it at home. The sweet plantains on the side were great as well.

Great Quick Dim Sum

This place is in downtown Secaucus, NJ. It is similar to places you will find in Chinatown. However, the place is clean, the food is always good and cheap, the waiters sometimes appear moody however. But that doesn’t bother my husband and I. The carts come around constantly. You must get there before 12 noon as they tend to run out of some of the food sometimes. Our bill never is more than $12. We leave with a full belly and a good taste in our mouth. Enjoy!

Fresh, tasty, dim sum. Not to be missed! Shu mai, pork buns, sticky rice in lotus leaf, spring rolls, shrimp and vegetable dumplings, red bean paste, etc.
