A sad decline over time...
Pinelli’s used to be one of my absolute favorite restaurants in the state – I used to frequent their locations in Warwick, E.G., and North Smithfield. They were alway predictable – great food, good portions. However the last several times I have ordered take out at the Cucina (usually pizza and calamari), I have found that quality gradually declined and bottomed out. I won’t be visiting again anytime soon, if at all.
Dishes I tried:
Old #3 with a Twist
This was an outstanding pizza at one time in the past. It was an unbeatable combination of tastes that worked incredibly well together. These days the crust seems liked it was frozen and it nevers seems to be prepared like in the past. Sad, sad, sad…

Great Food, Nice Prices
I have eaten at Pizzarelli’s several times and really find it to be great food at a good value. The portions are large and the food is awesome. They make all of their dough products from scratch. Their pizza and sandwiches are wonderful. Their pasta dishes are also fantastic. You can’t beat their specials – you get such a great meal at a excellent value. I’ve read some negative reviews from the past, but I think it was because they were so busy when they opened and had some challenges with a ‘green’ staff. It appears they really gotten their footing and found their groove.
Dishes I tried:
Shrimp Scampi
Large portion, nice and moist without being too oily. Delightful taste!
Meatball Parmigiana Calzone
Crispy on the outside, nice and moist on the inside. Perfecto!
Chicken Marsala
This is a great pasta dish. I have ofen liked the flavor of chicken marsala dishes that I’ve tried over the years, but never enjoyed the overly thick and dark gravy-like sauce that is very overbearing as part of the dish. At Pizzarelli’s they prepare the dish with a thin sauce, using lots of fresh mushroom and plenty of moist chicken. It is a wonderful medley of tastes that work well together, without all of the dark sauce.

Another great pasta dish. My wife ordered this one. It was fantastic. Lots of chicken, a wonderful sauce with fresh herbs and whole cloves of garlic. Our compliments to the chef!

Great Food, great value!
We just tried one of Vintage’s two-for-$25 dinner specials. It was a nice meal at a really great value. This was out first visit there and I’m sure we will be back. In the poor economy several area restaurants have introduced dining deals that include a glass or bottle of wine to go along with soup/salad, entree, desert and coffee. I think it’s a great idea to keep people going out to eat. Everything was perfect at Vintage. Tthe host and waitress were friendly and attentive. The food was excellent.. The price was excellent. If I had to complain about anything, it was that there was no salt or pepper on the table and we weren’t offered any fresh ground pepper. But that was the only flaw in the dining experience. We’ll be going back for sure.
