Spumoni's
Apr 2, 2008
Chef Boyardee
How do I describe Spumoni’s? Picture a bunch of pigs in front of a large trough at fedding time. That pretty much sums it up! Unfortunately for me, I have been invited here for dinner on several occasions. Not wanting to be rude, I had to accept. Each time trying a new dish with the utmost optimism, hoping that I would finally order a delicious dinner and I would understand what all the fuss is about. Sadly enough, that never did happen. With each visit and each new dish, I was served the same slop, but with a new name. Spumoni’s pasta is Chef Boyardee at best!

Tortilla Craps
This has to be the worst food I have ever eaten! It doesn’t even closely resemble Mexican Food. Have these people ever eaten Mexican food? Have they ever been to Mexico? It’s almost as if they have no culinary training at all. I ordered the chicken tacos with rice and beans. Have you eaten those prepackaged taco dinners that you buy at the grocery store? Have you ever eaten canned beans and spanish rice from a box? So did I, only I had to pay $20 for it! I don’t know how this place is still open for business. If I was Mexican, I would revolt! Man do I miss Southern CA. I could go for some Tito’s Tacos right now.

Best Asian Cuisine in the City
Apsara on the East Side is one of my favorite places to eat! The food is truely delicious! This has become my sanctuary in such an angry city. The people who work here are always welcoming and pleasant. The food here is prepared with fresh ingredients and the taste reflects that freshness. I can fill my belly for under $10 and that price includes hot tea! My favorite dishes are the Chicken Pad Thai and the Chicken Bahn Hoi. I also love the Nime Chow and Tom Yum Soup. If you haven’t eaten here yet, you are missing out on some of the best food in Providence.

Best Cheap Eats
This is by far one of my favorite spots to grab a bite to eat. The food here is healthy, fresh, and quick. You can’t beat the prices. It is refreshing to have edible food in this city! I would recommend this place to everyone! My family and I eat here at least once a week.
Angelo's Civita Farnese

Cafeteria Cuisine
Do you miss the good ol’ days of cafeteria spaghetti? If so, this place is for you. I ate at Angelo’s for a birthday dinner with my family. While my kids were amused by the train on the ceiling, it’s not enough to keep us coming back for more. I ordered the spaghetti with meat sauce and it reminded me of a school cafeteria lunch. If this is the best that Federal Hill has to offer, pack your bags and go home. I would avoid that entire street, especially if you value your stomach and your wallet.
