Giacomo's Restaurant
Jul 7, 2008
Northend Italian in Southend
Giacomo’s was recommended to me by a Northend friend. The food and service were both very good. The waiters have the service down to a science. The restaurant was very loud. This a restaurant where you should come for the food but probably not for a romantic date. If you do come to Giacomo’s – remember it is cash only – no credit cards.

Eggplant Parmesean
The Eggplant Parmesean was very good. The eggplant was thinly sliced but flavorful. The side of pasta had great sauce.

Estragon

Tapas in a Great Atmosphere
Estragon is a new Tapas bar/restaurant in the SouthEnd. It is portraying itself as a 1930’s Tapas bar. The decor is fun and casual but lively. The waiter was great and helped us through the menu. The menu had many different selections from vegetarian to oxtail. Every dish we tried was fantastic. I would definitely recommend the oxtail. The Sangria was also amazing.

Bad Experience
The view is amazing but the attitudes of the hostesses and waiters are too snooty too handle. I am living in Boston but had friends in town. I thought it would be fun to show my friends a different view of the city. The hostesses greeted our party with a snooty hello followed by move to the side until your table is ready. After waiting 20 minutes (over to the side without acknowledgement) past our reservation – we left.
Latorre's Restaurant and Bar

Best Scallops in Town!
Latorre’s is a great restaurant for Latin cusisine. All of the dishes are very unique. The servers are very knowledgable about the dishes. There is also a very good wine list. The wines are unusual as many come from Argentina. However, the servers can easily help you pick wine to your liking. Latorre’s is easily one of my favorite restaurants in Charlotte!

Signature Scallops Dish
Latorre’s signature scallop dish is amazing! There is a wonderful mix of favors. The dish comes with coconut rice, green beans, and plantains. The mixture of the flavors is incredible.
