Not fit for Nobu's Dumpster
I went to the Happy Hour because I wanted to eat light
before hitting Yoga Tropics.
For Sushi I usually go to Mr. Sushi nearby or Ogata in PB.
It seem a Chinese family bought the place, perhaps recently.
There was precious little to eat on the Happy Hour Menu. I had miso soup, age dashi tofu, and a salmon roll. There was hardly anybody there, a couple of women bickering with the couple that owned the restaurant what pieces where part of the Happy Hour price, and in the next booth, a AA sobrety lunch. Not a good sign.
The miso soup was salty. The salmon hand roll was miniscule. The tofu was passing. They charged me for the green tea.
I had to wait a long time for the check, although there was more staff than customers. They gave me a bill for 32 dollars, which was for the AA people, and then the bill for was for 10 dollars. Which was alot for so little. Then they said my card would not go thruough! I went to the BevMO next door and got V water and cash and paid them with the same card they were having problems with. They said they were sorry so I left them a dollar.
I really miss the Sushi on the Rocks Happy Hour in the Forum. The Happy Hour at Beach Grass Cafe is really good too. I don’t drink Alchohol so I go mainly for the food.
My advice to my neighbors is to stick to Mr. Sushi and try out Beach Grass.
Dishes I tried:
Spicy Salmon Roll
It was miniscule

09/26/2008A Chinese family running a Sushi House? That’s like Germans running a Filipino restaurant. If Japanese food wasn’t their specialty, perhaps, they should consider changing the place to a Chinese restaurant.
