Marche

French Bistro with the French Attitude
Marche is on the restaurant row in the West Loop. Marche offers creative brasserie-style French cuisine in a club like setting. The ambiance is very chic and hip, our waitress had a cool “accessory” purse to carry her orders around. The service is very good… my boyfriend and I decided to split everything and were blown away when all of our selections were served on separate plates, they even split our glass of wine into two.

Braised Rabbit Chablis
Caramelized Onion, Carrots, Bacon Lardon, Creamy Polenta … the best is the chunks of bacon, the rabbit falls right off the bone and melts in your mouth!

Pommes Frites
The Pommes Frites are absolutely awesome, served with a garlic mayo dipping sauce!

Awesome Pizza and great Craft Beer
You can’t ask for a better combo … Pizza & Beer!! Piece delivers with great thin crust pizza offering 3 styles, traditional red, new haven plain, and white. The pizza are square or oblong. The crust is amazing, its treated with olive oil and oregano, and parmesan adds a slight saltiness. The beer though, oh the hand crafted brewed beer is oh so good … I highly recommend the Top Heavy Hefeweizen, and the Worry’in Ale.

red
Some of the best dine-in Pizza in Chicago. I like it with black olives, sausage and pepperoni.

The Spot

The Spot thats Not
Don’t waste your time here, for some reason I’ve punished myself with 2 return trips. This place is so ready for you to be a regular you might get “the welcome back, how you been” from the server or bartender on your first visit. The Spot is 2 levels, with a formal dining / lounge bar down and a sports bar, and another theme room up. Went here for a date on the first time and the atmosphere was poor and we both couldn’t wait to leave.

Roast Beef
Nothing special, nothing great, banquet style roast beef. My date had the chicken Caesar salad , it looked like it was right out of the grocery bag from Jewel.

Gay Sports Bar with Amazing Food
Best gay sports bar ever… this place has a great sports ambiance gay or straight. You’ll also enjoy the outdoor patio in the summer while watching a cubs game and putting back a beer. Inside you’ll find several large HDTVs. Be sure to check karaoke night, and of course hot jock strap contest night… while watching the Bulls game.

Sassy Chicken Wings
12 huge wings in the “sassy” sauce, very spicy, and rich sauce… I would venture to say some of the best wings in the city. Pair these with the current pint of the month Shiner Bock and you’re definitely in for a treat.

Jane's

Great Presentation, Atmosphere, and Awesome Brunch!
Came to Jane’s with some friends for Sunday Brunch. Had a reservation and was seated right aways. Janes is tucked away in what looks like use to be a single family home. Very cool and open on the inside, exposed wood through out. There were also about 6 tables on outside on the side walk. I ordered the daily special Frittata, it was served in block with cheese, sausage, egg, and potato. Great presentation and flavor. The Frittata was served with a nice size cup of fresh fruit. I also got to try the Banana Nut Bread French Toast. The french toast was really good, it was served with a side of poato’s and sausage, those were bland.
All meals are also served with fresh bread, and a very very tasty honey butter.
Coffe was fresh and plentiful.
