I absolutely love Aki. Excellent sushi, and fabulous grilled items as well. Hard to beat the salmon belly. The atmosphere really adds to the experience. Kind of hidden (downstairs under the McDonalds), but once you find it, you’ll be happy.

Great food. I’ve been there three times, and it’s been consistently amazing. Top notch preparations, and an excellent wine list as well. I think I’ve ordered daily specials all three times, so I can’t comment on some of their normal menu items. Service has been perfect on each visit.

Long wait (get on the list early). Food was hit and miss: the lobster pan roast was excellent, while the boiled lobster wasn’t very good. Some of the side dishes that came along with the “clambake option” for the lobster dishes weren’t very good – particularly the mussels. If I were to go back, I would definately stick to the lobster pan roast – seems to be one of the house specialties.

Great food. We went there for one of their Sunday Suppers. The food was excellent, the cocktails were good, and the service was fabulous as well. The restaurant is quite cramped. I think they should consider removing a couple of tables – it would definately improve the atmosphere. Having said that, I would definately eat there again.

I ate here somewhat randomly on a trip to NYC – it was the only place on my “to try” list that I was able to get a last minute reservation at. It seemed like they were holding some very small, somewhat uncomfortable tables right by the entrance for walk-in or last minute reservations (which was much appreciated). Service was excellent. We went for the tasting menu which was overall quite good. I have to agree with one of the other reviewers – sometimes simple is better, and there wasn’t really anything simple about the preparations here.
