Amazing food, incredible ambiance. Not a fancy restaurant but the owners are very friendly, the music is great, and the atmosphere is fun! Small, a little cramped, murals all around you, you feel like you’ve escaped to a corner-of-a-parking-lot oasis. I have no idea what’s in that tritip sandwich but HOLY SHIT. If you go, order a sandwich, they are very filling (the bowls not so much, but they are also good).

Food is great. I go here with my family (it’s one of those take your family/date go somewhere a little more casual and inexpensive with your friends kind of place), and we all love it. Calamari is particularly awesome. I really enjoy the variety as they offer seafood, steak, and pasta. It is a bit pricey, around the $18-35 range depending on what you order of course, but location location location its right at the end of 4th, so you can enjoy a day/evening shopping, etc. Ambiance is fun, all fishing memorobilia and like… ships and giant swordfish on the walls.

Best chinese food i’ve ever had. They never make anything super fatty/greasy or heavy-feeling. Everything tastes great and proportions are awesome!

Delicious DELICIOUS food. Jerk chicken is the best i’ve ever had, and the service is great! Owners not only bus tables but are also the chefs (i think)! You can call in advance and order, they’ll have food ready in like 15 minutes. Most meat dishes served with fried plantains, beans and rice, and this really interesting spinach side that’s super good. Inexpensive and awesome, lots of food, if you’re eating with friends i totally recommend ordering some fufu to go around (it’s like a dumpling soup thing that’s served with meat and is REALLY good).

I’ll be liberal with the ahem stars and give this place a 4 because their food is good. Worth the long wait? I’m not sure. Good japanese food but it tends to be hyped as AMAZING and I dont really know about that, seems a little overrated. Go to Joshuya on dwight and telegraph. It’s not as fancy but who needs fancy when you can have nice ambiance with great taste and cheaper prices?

Amazing amazing amazing amazing amazing. Super fresh, neiman ranch organic meats full of flavor like nothing i’ve ever had before. I’ve been a couple times, I can’t really go on a regular basis because it is a little pricey for a college student (hey, its a nice deli and the ingredients are the freshest ever, why shouldnt it be?), but when i do go it’s such a treat! I always leave feeling very happy and light, which is a lot to say considering i end up eating a lot! Latkes are amazing, so is the deli hash, and pretty much everything else on the menu.

Also breads are really good, particularly the olive focaccia bread.

If you like cheese, or simply want good quality cheese, this is truly the best and most one of a kind cheese counters you’ll ever see! I bought a quarter pound of ricotta for like a dollar and ate it before it got home. For recipes where the cheese is a big deal, regular supermarket refrigerated cheese just doesn’t match up to cheeseboard. It’s worth the trip!

Most incredible gourmet pizza ever. Period. The hours are a little funny though so make sure to check the website before heading over. Otherwise you can always buy half-baked pizza at the cheese collective.

Best sushi definitely in berkeley possibly california possibly the US possibly the world. Regular japanese dishes also very good! Great service, the sushi chefs are really nice. My favorites are: Joshuya and super crunch rolls, the spicy hot juicy, and the amsterdam. Menu is constantly improving. Rolls are inexpensive for how big and tasty they are!

Maybe i have a jaded palatte but all I can really say is

Calzones: huge and awesome, worth the wait
Everything else: poop.

The french guy that works here is wonderfully hilarious and super nice. Strawberry lemon sugar crepes with whipped cream are to die for!
