A good example of “hidden Boston” this restaurant in the Charlestown Navy Yard has a great atmosphere, good prices and really good food. The tuna tar tar, a very spicy version, is probably the best I have ever had. The Lobster risotto is a spectacular take on a New England classic. A very good wine and beer list including Anchor Steam.

Not Indian, but Indian-American fusion. Basically the prepare some “new American” dishes with an emphasis on Indian flavors. Really good food, not too expensive and some of my favorite wines (Seghasio, Foley Vineyards).

One other interesting thing about the place is that the menu is prix fixe. For $64 you get your choice of one app, one entree and a desert. It adds a little bit of fun to the experience when you don’t take the price into the equation.

They are also obsessed with customer service. I have probably never been in a restaurant that treated my party so well. For example, my friend ordered a glass of wine and halfway through the glass the waiter replaced it with a brand new glass because he felt that the wine bottle he had poured it from had been open for too long.

Do you love Cuban food? This funky, hip restaurant in downtown Providence offers one of the best Cubano sandwichs in the Northeast. The right mix of meat, pickle and most importantly – spreads. (Most places have too much mustard or may. They key is only a light application of both, with an emphasis on the mustard). Not too expensive with a great atmosphere this place is worth a trip to Providence.
