Neighborhood Cantina
Slightly to the east of downtown and Fair Park, right off Interstate 30, you will find this neighborhood cantina tucked into a strip center. It has survived for several generations, and interestingly enough you will SEE the generations dining almost anytime you go. The food is consistently good, the service is gentle and prompt and the pralines are to die for. You can BYOB because (alas!) no margaritas. A nice place for a tex-mex fix, a bit of conversation, meeting up with friends. As I am writing this in Fall of 2008, you may have to dodge construction on Samuell Boulevard, but … this too shall pass?

Laredo Special
Comes with an enchilada, tamale (the best part!) and a wonderful crisp and slightly greasy taco, plus beans and rice.
