Sonic Drive-In

Sep 8, 2008 Link

Will Go Back but Not a Huge Draw

I was excited to go to this Sonic as I had never gone to one before and now that we had one locally, I wanted to try it out. The atmosphere is great, the service was great, the serving sizes were great but I wasn’t a fan of my burger. There was something in the topping that just didn’t suit my taste however, I am sure I could customize my burger if I wanted.

I will go back to try another menu item so that I can give a fair assessment of the restaurant’s food and not judge it by one item.

Sorry, I can’t remember the specific name for the burger combo I had but it had bacon. I should have written the review immediately after going there. But stay tuned…I will be more specific when I go there for my second visit.

Joe's Poultry Farm

Delicious Quick Meal

After having the chicken at the original Joe’s in Vineland, I was happy to see that they had opened a second store in Buena. The chicken is a delicious alternative to cooking your own at home. I ordered the potato salad as a side for the first time and was not disappointed. The added bonus is that your chicken comes cut up. The complete meal was treat when I added some locally purchased corn on the cob.

Maplewood III

Worth Going Back

As a first time visitor to the Maplewood, I was impressed with portions of my meal. We had received a gift certificate otherwise I may not have tried this restaurant however, we are glad that we did. My entree (shrimp and scallops) was good but not great but the appetizer I will rave about for years to come! I ordered the stuffed mushrooms which were sutffed with crabmeant and spinach and topped with a cheese sauce that I LOVED!

The seasoned olive oil dip for the bread was delicious as well. I cannot comment on any desserts because neither I or my dining partner had room for dessert.

Our waitress was wonderful!

I was suprised by the casual attire worn by most of the restaurant goers and my concer about not being dressed up enough vanished upon entering the restaurant.

The flavor of this meal was good and the scallops were tender and sweet. The shrimp, however, were quite “rubbery” but had good taste. The pasta and garlic seasonings were very good.

This appetizer was probably the best appetizer I have EVER had. Nice and hot and flavorful with a cheese topping to die for….yum!

Venuto's Old World Pizza

Jun 20, 2008 Link

A NIce Change From Traditional Pizza

My husband and I actually tried a Venuto’s pizza because he wanted pretzels and The Pretzel Factory was next door. We felt the need for some veggies so we ordered The Botticelli. It served us well….I liked the thin crust for a change and the fresh veggies on top were delicious. I did however feel that it was a bit pricey ($18.88) for a 14 " pizza but it beat cooking dinner at home.

If you are a “pan pizza” person at heart then you may be disappointed in the paper thin crust Venuto’s offers. I am a pan pizza person but the flavor in this thin pizza was great and I would go back. Although it won’t be a permanent substitute for my preference for a thicker crust, It was a nice change of pace.

It was nice too that I could order online.

A yummy veggie pizza. Has plenty of flavor…we ordered white crust but you can order it with a whole wheat crust. A bit pricey for what you get.
