Don’t be fooled by the horrible exterior (and don’t even look in the inside). You’re going to Raul’s for some of the best burritos around, not for the ambiance and the service (walk two blocks and sit by the beach if you want great views). Favorite burritos: chile verde, carnitas, and fish (although it can vary from just OK, to absolutely killer depending on the day—or maybe it depends on how hungry I am).

This is my current favorite lunch place, but not for the pizza, for their subs. The bread is light but crunchy, and their veggie sub is to die for. It’s all really solid, and I can eat there day in and day out.

Great, cheap lunches. Their teriyaki chicken and kalua pork are delicious. Insider’s tip: Their sadwiches are just like the platters but much cheaper. You can even ask them to replace the fries with rice and/or maraconi salad.
