Greek pizza???

I had lunch at Marco’s Cafe today. My friend told me that they had Greek pizza’s there. I had never had a Greek pizza before but I am telling you, it was GREAT! I had one of the daily specials – mushroom, bacon, and cheese with a little of their garlic parsely oil sprinkled on the top. It was yummy, yummy, yummy! The specials only come in the full size which is about 4" X 8" but the regular menu items can be ordered in the small size which is about 4"x4". Of course we all tasted each other’s different items and they were great too. One of my friends had a potato pesto one. I thought that was a very odd combination, but it also tasted great. The spinach salad was large with feta and onions, tasted wonderful, and we shared it between 4 people – it was plenty. The only drawbacks are that there is only outdoor seating. They do have misters going and the patio is shady. It was 100* today but the patio was comfortable. A little warm for my taste, but very livable. The other drawback was that there was a 1 refill limit on the iced tea. It was good fresh brewed tea, but it would have been better to have unlimited refills while you eat there. Overall I was very pleased with this restaurant and will definitely go back again.

Mooney's has great Chicken Fried Steak!

I got introduced to this restaurant a couple of weeks ago by a friend of mine and have been back taking my friends ever since. My son and I had Sunday breakfast at Mooney’s yesterday. We had the $6.99 Chicken Fried Steak and eggs and it was delicious. The best I’ve tasted in CA! Nice thick piece of steak with a great coating and even better gravy. The gravy is not that icky sausage gravy that most restaurants serve – it’s a true milk gravy and plenty of it. It comes with 2 eggs however you want them, and either hash browns or country fried potatoes. – both of which are excellent. The country fried potatoes were served with optional Creole seasoning which I tried and boy was that good on them. The breakfast also came with toast. What a deal – what a deal! And it was yummy.

Every bite was heaven! I’ve had this dish 3 times now and it is consistantly one of the top 3 Chicken fried steaks I’ve ever had – and I try it every where I go.
