who wouldn’t like a restaurant where a 7 oz steak is listed as a side item? the music is a bit loud, so you can’t hear any conversation, which saves people from having anything substantial to talk about. but then, this is los angeles, and we weren’t ever in any danger of that happening anyway.
service was efficient, if not slightly annoying. and the food was decent.

It was billed to me as one of the gayest places one could eat in West Hollywood – also pronounced WeHo to those in the know, or those without the guts to move to New York.
The restaurant itself is rather unremarkable in terms of decor and view (if you sit outside, you have a lovely view of one of 17 organic/healthy food grocery stores on the boulevard); but the food was relatively outstanding.
and, most importantly, the waiter was a cutie pie.

Someone told me not to bring my New York attitude to Los Angeles. whatever. I’ll tell it like it is…and L.A. is my home, so I can say whatever I want.
This place is absurdly obsessed with all things organic, antibiotic-free, and tofu — who the hell has organic ketchup as a condiment i ask you — …which are major minuses to people who actually enjoy flavor and have a love of food.
truth be told, the menu options had great variety, and the food (surprisingly) was rich in flavor. the service was exceptionally cute.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the n-y-c, to dine with friends or on a date. The dishes are great, the atmosphere is fun, with cool/techno vibe, the prices are reasonable/cheap, and the bathrooms are an experience. It’s always crowded, so you’ve got to hedge your hunger a bit if you’re impatient. But, the wait is worth it.

Step into 1960s/1970s decor, and enjoy a great (though a bit pricey depending upon what you select) meal in a restaurant with social atmosphere where the waiters/waitresses are both pretty damn cute/pretty and attentive.
The dessert I selected (some sort of blueberry crumble) left much to be desired. And while the others are packaged to aesthetic delight, something tells me that they too result in the same disappointment. And, the steak frites are fantastic.

It’s strangely always crowded with a 15 minute plus wait whenever I arrive. And the service usually leaves something to be desired. But, iti is a fun yet classy place to have dessert after a meal or a show or a movie elsewhere. The dinner menu is annoyingly pricey with a lackluster selection.

I’ve managed to have breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner here, and I can’t say I walked away disappointed by anything but the price. But this is New York, so one adapts to the concept of paying for a zip code rather than the quality of a meal.
Elmo is the type of restaurant where one goes to be seen, so there is plenty of eye candy to tantalise and talent-spotting to engage in.
Luckily, the service isn’t bad either.

Southern cuisine gets caught amidst corporate...
Southern cuisine gets caught amidst corporate buildings, theatre houses, and up-and-coming gay boys who either can’t afford Chelsea or are fleeing the bitchiness of Chelsea. Suffice it to say, it’s always an interesting mix of people sitting down inside.
The menu is more or less rather un-noteworthy. Hush puppies and gumbo — which were pretty good by the way — make appearances on the menu, so it gets to keep the credits afforded to it by its name.
But upon insistency by my waiter, do NOT try to the fried chicken. I didn’t, but I watched people at two other tables push theirs around on their plate while they ate everything else but it. And judging by the dissatisfied looks on their face (and the amount of chicken left behind after the plates were collected), I was grateful I didn’t waste the money.
