Just Awesome.
The moment I walked in, I knew this place had something. Something struck me right away. The clientele…every single one of them had a smile on their face with a heaping plate of food in front of them.
What sets this place apart is the experience of the two people who run it. The lady who takes the orders, does so fast and politely. She delivers the food to the patrons as well, and is in constant communication with the chef. When she delivers food, she brings fresh cutlery and a bottle of ketchup if you have ordered something with fries. Take note, not cheap imitation ketchup. Heinz Ketchup. She also offers jams and peanut butter for your toast as well. Salt and Pepper is available at every table.
When orders aren’t being taken, she’s right in the mix with the chef preparing the meals. They’re always on the same page and it’s an art to see them work together. In the 2 years I’ve been going, I’ve NEVER had a order messed up.
Now….The Chef….every restaurant you hear about you want to hear about the chef. Here’s my review. He’s DAMN AWESOME.
He is of eastern descent and looks hardcore. This guy doesn’t mess around in the kitchen. You can tell he puts in a days work. His apron showing the wear and tear of the day’s work.
He even sometimes delivers the food to you. There’s something mysterious about him. I’m not saying that makes him a better or worse chef, but it seems as though he’s hiding someting. Some sort of secret..
I could easily see this guy commanding a Special Forces team or a crack commando unit somewhere in his past, or for all we know, the present.
It’s just, the precision this guy has in the kitchen can’t be taught in a school. It has to come from some sort of military training. To be honest with you, I don’t care what side this guy is on…I’m eating whatever he makes
Blue Flame also supplies a lot of daily newspapers for customers to read. Vancouver Province, 24, Metro. They even have a TV that stays on TSN. There’s no volume to it, but they do provide closed captioning.
Another feature that I must mention is the music. They’ve setup speakers in the corner of the place that play QMFM 103.5. I must say they play some awesome songs sometimes.
Yesterday after finishing my chicken strips and ceaser salad, Bon Jovi Living on a Prayer came on. I just sat there in amazement. I was done my meal, but stayed until the song finished. Once again, leaving Blue Flame with a huge smile on my face.
Dishes I tried:
Special Omellete
This omellete is STACKED. It is honestly the biggest one you’ll ever get. Comes with a good portion of hashbrowns and 2 pieces of toast, any kind you want. it is better then any breakfast place in town.
Mushrooms, Cheese, Green Peppers, Red Peppers
Ceaser Sald + Chicken Strips
4 Chicken Strips. Now these aren’t your normal chicken strips. THESE THINGS ARE HUGE. Also they’re not dry. It feels as though you just eat a whole chicken when your done. It comes with honey mustard sauce and a ceaser salad. Can’t go wrong
