Gonzaga Fans, Students, and Alumni BEWARE!
- Terrible Reciption
My husband, friend, and I went to FoxSport to celebrate my husband’s birthday and watch Gonzaga and St. Mary’s (before tonight’s game tied for 1st place in the WCC…now GU is numero uno!). After traffic and parking we arrived a little late for the game (the game started at 5:00pm and we arrived at 5:10pm). The receptionist informed us there was a 10 dollar cover charge to sit in the bar because a UFC fight would be starting at 7:00pm. The cover charge started at 5:00pm. We were 10 minutes late, knew nothing of said UFC fight, and the receptionist refused to let us come into the bar area to watch the game (BTW…the bar was nearly EMPTY). Out secondary option was to sit in the dining area. We decided to go with this option. The dining area had (precisely, becase we counted) 5 tables open; HOWEVER, it took them 30 minutes to seat us. In the meantime, the receptionist would not allow us to sit in the bar area and we had to watch the on-going GU game STANDING from afar.
- Service lacks
After being seated it took the waitress 10 minutes to take drink orders from us. I asked her how the salmon was perpared and she said “medium”. I asked what spices/sauce was used and she said a “premixed” sauce. Needless to say, our waitress was not knowledgable of the menu, nor interested in finding out this information for us.
- RUDE Management
I asked to see a manager to discuss our experience. The manager was non-simpathetic and curt. He stressed how much UFC fights meant to the bar and grill and how a cover charge was needed. He did not address why my group and I were seated after such a long period even though 5 tables were open in the dining hall. He did not address why my group and I could not wait in the bar area while our table was being prepared. He did not address why our waitress took so long to take our orders. Lastly, he did not address why we couldn’t wait in the bar area and have drinks while our table took 30 minutes in an half empty dining area to prepare.
- FOR DEDICATED COLLEGE SPORTS FANS (who can’t always make it to the game in person):
Please do not let the same experience ruin YOUR college game. I advise staying at home, where you can get a better view of the game or going somewhere like SpitFire where the servers are friendly, accomdating, and willing to take special orders for picky eaters. SpitFire has more TV’s in their eating area and an all-over better game viewing experience.
- UFC Fans:
Why are you paying a 10 dollar cover to watch a game at the grill? You will all surely pay the grill back in your drinks and food that you order during the game…If customers keep supporting such bad treatment, restaurants will have no reason to change…
