Give this place a try
The food is just like ethiopean food except that they have pasta items on the menu. We didn’t try those but the food was so good. The atmosphere not as great as the food, seeing that it was once a strip club and they haven’t changed the scene very much but everyone was really friendly and the service was good.

Beef and Lamb Combination
The spices and flavors were great. Each item tasted really unique. The chicken was a little dry but the spices made up for it
-
Vegetable combo
All the parts to the dish were delicious, different varities of spicyness and textures. The little salad that comes with it is a great palate cleanser between bites.

Top notch experience
The first time I went the service was great, our server was very attentive but not overly in our faces. I got the 25 for 25. Drinks and food arrived quickly. I loved that the bread came with tahini, a very nice touch. THe tomato soup was only ok, we had a sald that had a cheese that I forget, beets, almonds, and red onions and it was delicious. For my entree I had the risotto which was pretty small but the flavor was really good, full of cherries, arugala, mushrooms, and goat cheese. THe caramel pound cake was delicious. I love the atmosphere and theme of the restaurant. The second time I went back the meal was to die for. Service again was excellent and I can’t wait until the next time I eat there again.

Best breakfast in seattle
Great coffee, great scrambles, great portions, great smoothies, great cinnamon rolls, great atmosphere (love the cow booths). Go when you have time to spend, not a place for a rushed breakfast. Nothing better than flipping through the stranger with a cup of their coffee waiting for the fantastic meal you’re about to have.

Interesting and different
Atmosphere: 5 Such a comfortable feeling restaurant, the lights are all really cool, the walls are unique, I could spend all day hanging out in there Service: 2 Went for lunch and I think we were the first customers of the day, only one guy doing everything so didn’t pay much attention to us. He kept our waters full which was good but he answered the phone as he was filling our waters at our table which was not so good. I tried to order a beer and it just wasn’t going to happen since he clearly wasn’t the bartender and was in no way interested in trying to be. Food: 4 Very unique and pretty damn good. To start they bring out some chips with a really good spicy salsa and some sour cream. We devoured them immediately. I had the “legume” which was an eggplant dish with spices and onions and such. Came as a side dish portion along with rice (good), green beans (salty but good), fried plantains (needed salt but good), potato salad (ok), beets (average), and a spicy coleslaw (fantastic). I’d give it a 3+ if i could

Really friendly
After wanting to try this place since we first saw it months ago we finally made it in and not a moment too soon. This was such a relaxing and enjoyable dinner, I will definitely be returning here soon. We started with their half price appetizer of mushrooms in their yogurt garlic sauce with mint and cilantro served with bread and it was delicious. I got the house made pasta with spinach and scallions, it was so fresh tasting and the sauces balanced the dish so well. My boyfriend got the lamb sabzi and loved it, his rice was great as well. After the meal the owner came out and talked to us for a bit, very friendly, and since it was our first time there he brought us out some complimentary dishes of dried fruit and nuts in some sweet liquid that is something they traditionally eat. It was really good. We also got the custard with cardamom and rosewater, deeeeelicious!

Far exceeded expectations
The food was incredible, I’ve never had vegetarian food like that and that’s all I’ve eaten for about 12 years now. We had the chocolote tea, I had the boysenberry cayenne and my boyfriend had the coconut curry it was such a cool idea and tasted fantastic

The texture was so great and the plating was fantastic. The wasabi cream was a bit much for me but I’m not a big fan of wasabit to begin with

Huge dissapointment
I hated this meal. I went there several months ago and I love the idea and was really excited about a veg. place so close to where I live but I will never go back there. I had some sort of stir fry dish with “chicken” but it basically tasted like their were McDonald’s chicken nuggets (or what i remember them tasting like about 11 years ago) in my stir fry. flavors were bland and I was incredibly unimpressed. I can’t remember what else we had but I know we weren’t happy with any of it except maybe the rice.

My favorite restaurant in Seattle
AMAZING FOOD! I’ve been to Mediterranean kitchen three times now and it has been flawless every time. I got the vegetarian couscous dish the first time, the flavors were amazing and the portions were huge. For normal Seattle prices for dinner I still went home with about 5lbs of couscous! The next two times I got the Fool Madamas (sp?) which is unbelievable. The spices are wonderful. The soup that they bring you almost as soon as you sit down is wonderful as is the garlic oil they bring you with pita. Service is excellent. Make reservations on a Friday or Saturday night or you’ll be waiting for awhile.

Not worth it
I’m going with 2 stars because of the food. The service deserved a 3 but I just was not impressed when I went there for lunch today. I went in for the 25 for 25 lunch and was really surprised to find they had no vegetarian entree on the 25 for 25 lunch menu. I ended up ordering off of the regular menu and got the field green salad with meyer lemon vinaigrette and the crispy tofu. I chose the greens salad over the beet salad because it was described as coming with goat cheese croutons which sounded really good… and they were…. except that there was only one of them. Granted it was off of the small plates menu but getting 2 or 3 of them would have been nice seeing that the one i had was quite small. The greens and the dressing were pretty decent though. Then came the tofu… First off, the dipping sauce was spilled all over the plate and the waiter apparently didn’t see anything wrong with serving it like that. It looked great other than that though, the plating was nice and the pickled vegetables were good and spicy but then I tried to tofu. It was so bland and not at all crispy like it says its going to be. The sauce was ok but couldn’t compensate for the tofu. I sent it back. This is the first time I have ever sent food back in a restaurant. The waiter was very understanding and fine with that, he quickly went and talked to the cooks to see what they could do and they offered to make me a stir fry with rice which sounded pretty good. The waiter kept checking to make sure that the person I was with was ok with her food and didn’t need anything else which was good. He brought out my replacement dish of broccoli, red onion, edamame, and a few other veggies stir fried with some rice on the side. I think it was arborio rice which didn’t work too well for the purpose and was pretty boring and plain and the stir fry was just ok, nothing special. It was nice for just throwing something together for me though. Fortunately they comped both my drink and my friends which was really cool of them. I think that this just really isn’t a restaurant for a vegetarian, I don’t think I’ll be returning here.

Really good ethiopian food
This place is fantastic… just make sure you go at the right time. We went and luckily got the last table open for dinner and proceeded to watch the people after us continue to wait for a table through our entire meal. The food was fantastic, we got the vegetarian appetizer rolls which were great, between 4 of us we got one meat combo and one veggie combo and it was plenty. The spongy bread is amazing. Their honey wine was delicious. The service is pretty slow so go when you have a long time to spend there. The bill was very reasonable as well.
