Excellent Italian in a converted old pharmacy. The food is fresh & simply but excellently prepared. For example, the mussels appetizer (steamed in white wine, lemon & black pepper) is wonderful, and every single mussel is large, healthy & perfect. The wine list (all Italian) is extensive, and the staff knowledgeable. The atmosphere is warm, cozy & intimate. Great place for a date, or to bring a few good friends to share a bottle (or two) of wine with.

Really good Turkish in big portions at reasonable prices. The imam bayildi is silky and delicious. Chicken adana kebab was juicy and flavorful, and the Sultan’s Delight is exactly what the name says.

Absolutely transcendent Bangladeshi/South Indian off the beaten path. When Mina is cooking, the food is made with love and soul — just incredible. Of all the spicy, flavorful, wonderful things on the menu, the mustard fish is a real star.

Only Tunisian place in NYC, as far as I can tell, although the menu incorporates some Moroccan dishes as well. The couscous is great, and the b’stilla is truly delicious.

Wonderful Italian. The gnochetti with spinach & gorgonzola sauce are rich and delicious. If the calamari and the pasta with duck ragout are available as specials, EAT them!
