Dos Caminos Salads are not for wusses

Dos Caminos isn’t a typical Mexican restaurant that only has tacos and burritos on the menu. Instead, it’s a really nice upscale take on Mexican food. They have a station devoted to making fresh guacamole, and an outdoors area as well. It’s a great place to have brunch if you’re looking for a Mexican twist to American food and portions.

This salad is comprised of grilled chicken breast, tomato, avocado, chorizo, grilled corn, onion and queso fresco, with a cilantro-basil vinaigrette. If you’re looking to fill yourself up with a salad, this’ll do the trick. All the ingredients work well together and they seem to use fresh produce to create such a salad. Two thumbs up for this delectable vibrant-looking bowl of greens.

Unpretentious classic hamburger for a bargain!

This place is awesome. Located in the West Village, it’s been around for many years…probably because you get scrumptiously juicy burgers for a cheap price of $6.50! They mainly serve burgers and beer, and perhaps a chicken sandwich. But trust me, they know how to make GOOD classic hamburgers. You get a lot of meat, lettuce, tomato, and onion with your burger. It is quite the feat to finish it all.

I believe you are considered a real New Yorker once you’ve been there. The atmosphere is real chill as well so grab a pint and have some good ol’burgers.

I like my burger medium-rare, which was done perfectly. Everything was just right – from the amount of onions to the crisp lettuce. All in all, definitely worth the money to eat there.

Brunch at Deborah's

This is place is definitely worth checking out. Originally my friends and I were planning on going to Grey Dog’s Coffee, but because it was extremely packed we decided to wander around and see what other restaurants were offering brunch. We stumbled upon this restaurant, and for a party of 6, we were immediately seated (to our delight). The place eventually filled up too so we were lucky.

In terms of their food, it all seemed real good. I really enjoyed my time there and seeing the dishes that other tables got, I definitely want to go back and try it out!

Cajun Spiced Sunfish with slow cooked grits and two over-easy eggs. The sunfish was a bit peppery, but it was nice and tender. Not too flaky, and with the eggs, made a great combination of food. I’m not a huge fan of grits so I can’t say that I really liked it. However, the salad dressing definitely added to this dish. Overall, not too bad though I would like to try their winter spiced pumpkin muffins or buttermilk biscuits.

Agave Silver Dollar Pancakes

Nice place to go for brunch, and it’s not too pricey either. They had a cute fireplace and couches on the walls.

I got the Silver Dollar Blueberry Pancakes with Lemon Cream Cheese and Mixed Berries. They were real good – the maple syrup wasn’t too overpowering and the lemon cream cheese was light as well. Since there were berries in the pancakes, it gave it a nice sweet and tangy flavor without the typical sugary taste. Awesome pancakes and definitely worth a try.
