Vadimbar "Food and Service-One is no good without the other!"

 

have been to the Olive Garden in Brooklyn @ Erskin Ave. many times before. As always the waiting line is ridiculously long while there are plenty of empty tables. The food is good enough to come back every so often. Today I brought family for dinner we had 6 people. We were told that the waiting time would be 2 hrs, we agreed. 1.5 hrs later our ezpass went off blinking that our table was ready. My wife and daughter stepped away for a little due to the long wait. When 4 of us walked in I was asked “where is the rest of my party?” I explained that my wife is across the street and I just spoke to her, she is on the way. I was told that I would not be seated until the rest of my party arrived. I told the “waitress” that we have been standing for over 1.5hrs I have two people with me that are over 70yrs old they need to sit down. I was told that it their “Policy”. I was annoyed but did not use foul language or shout. However I did tell her that “that’s absurd, 4 of us are here we want to sit down". The women behind the main counter said no. I was pissed at this point I walked in and sat down at the first empty table available. When my wife and daughter arrived I came back to the women at the desk I was told that they do not have a table for six. I said that’s impossible because the round pass lit up and I was called to be seated. No one was interested in what I had to say, When I asked the women behind the desk if I could talk to the manager she said “I’m the manager doesn’t that ruin your day?” I walked out with my family and went to Red Lobster instead. Olive Garden I promise I will never come back again! I left $157 dollars at Red Lobster that’s money that Olive garden past by. There is more where that came from but you will never see it!!!

 

I tried my first Oysters here. I never thought the day would come. They were excellent. We also had the Hanger steak. It was good. Oysters were fantastic though. Service was very good even though we got to abuse the waiter a little he was a good sport!

 

The appetizer was a vegetable dish with Chick Pease with red and green sauce and what looked like yogurt with herbs and additional spices. Pieces of warm bread at the bottom. Served on a plate shaped leaf.

 

Our friends invited us. The service was fantastic. The food was well prepared. Plenty of attention to detail. Expensive, but I strongly recommend it!

 

Beef Stroganoff was to die for! I can’t remember the last time I’ve eaten anything this good. They served it with a side of mashed potatos. We started out with a nice Greek Salad that had slices of Prosciutto on it? Not sure why? The Potato’s with Mushrooms was delicious although way too much oil in it.
2 Adults and 2 kids. Overall a good experience. Took about 20 minutes to get our check. I guess they didn’t want to see us go. ;-) LOL
