questionable quality on the sushi – the rolls tend to fall apart and aren’t particularly tasty. the selection in seafood is standard. the remainder of the food is half-decent. the food is just a step above panda express and is about as generic as big bowl’s menu. definitely not worth the drive if you live in the city, as there are much better all you can eat sushi buffets in the city that are cheaper.

this place has probably the best dim sum in chicago. they’re also open late which is a big plus, and their broccoli beef (a staple at any chinese restaurant) is not too shabby.

this korean restaurant is fantastic and has one advantage over many others – there’s rarely ever a long wait. the food is on par with that of cho sun ok – the jap chae here is better and the yuk gae jang is much more tasty. service is friendly enough, and the crowd is primarily korean – which is always a good sign.

this is a good vietnamese restaurant that offers north vietnamese cuisine (not very common in chicago). the food is very good and the restaurant is very clean. items that are are of note: ¹ bò bẩy món (beef seven ways), ² canh chua cá (vnese style tamarind soup with fish), ³ bún chả thăng long (grilled marinated pork).

this is a good moroccan restaurant. try all of the tajines and you’ll be greeted with very interesting aromas and tastes. particularly though, the tea is out of this world. it gets 4 stars on its tea alone.

great environment and good turkish cuisine. belly dancers and hookah always make a weekend night entertaining. speaking of which, this place gets booked up so make a reservation. try the iskender kabob and the lahmacun (turkish pizza). aside from the food and the environment, the wait staff is pleasant and the owner is very jovial and friendly.

very inventive menu from talented young chef. always in high demand on the weekends so make sure you reserve far in advance – try to reserve the day before and you won’t get a seating until at least 9.30p. fish is always fresh and the menu is constantly evolving, allowing for new creations. try the saba sashimi (if it’s still on the menu) and the dragon rolls. if something on the menu looks like it would be weird, TRY IT – it will not disappoint. there’s also a decent sake selection to go with your meal, and the wait staff enjoys the food as much as you do, so they usually have good ideas on what pairings will work.

this place has a great buffet on weekends with a good selection of your standard thai fare. service is always quick and rather friendly. the pad see-ew is delicious and the chicken gayang (grilled chicken) is very tasty.

great tacos with friendly wait staff. tacos come american style (cheese, lettuce, tomato, sour creme) or a la mexicana (cilantro, chopped white onion and lemon). orchata is a bit cinnamon-y but still delicious. also of note – this place has the best cheese fries i’ve ever had.

standard diner fare for a reasonable price at a joint that stays open 24 hours. only drawback – annoying crowds on weekend nights when the bars let out. otherwise…solid choice for a late night meal.
