Tie me to my chair at this Thai restaurant
This food seemed so authentic and diverse. The prices are unbelievably affordable.
Dishes I tried:
Spicy Noodles w/ Tofu
This was a very substantial portion w/ great use of the ingredients. I’ve never had tofu fried to such perfection. it wasn’t rubbery like most others present it.

just the view is worth the trip
First visit to this establishment. Went w/ friends ‘cause hubby working as usual. (Mostly to pay my dining out bills>LOL)
Our waiter was great and the food remarkable, but the best thing was the decor and view of Nashville’s skyline.
Dishes I tried:
Coconut Curry Salmon
Heavenly! Cooked to perfection and the sauce was yummy!

You gotta try it!
This was my second visit, and won’t be my last! Went with 3 friends. Hubby had to work. The bar and general ambiance here is so eclectic. Our server was fab and he new his wine pairings…but didn’t recommend the most expensive wine on the menu wh/ so often is the case. I had the lasagna wh/ was good. Took most of it home to hubby.
Dishes I tried:
Steamed Mussels
Best mussels ever, due to the rich broth. I ended eating the broth with a spoon and dipping all the bread I could find in it.

one of the dishes was extrordinary
During Nashville Originals restaurant week, we tried 4 new restaurants. The 1st was Zola. The food was good, the service was fair, but the Gazpacho…we all melted on it’s taste. Topped w/ a fried avocado wedge, it was by far the best thing we tasted that night (besides a delicious wine wh/ or server recommended.
Dishes I tried:
Gazpacho
Our entire party of 5 agreed, we would return anytime the restaurant was serving this scrumptious soup. Unlike most gazpacho’s, this was pureed to a smooth blend. I could taste cumin and mint. The fried avocado on the top was like icing on the cake YUMMMMMMMMMMM!

just like the picture
Recently, I saw an article about Mitchell’s Deli in a free mag called The City Paper. There was a pic of a deli sandwich and was labeled, “The Italian”. I told my hubby I had to have one. It tasted better than the pic even looked. That never happens!
Dishes I tried:
The Italian
On a Silke’s Bakery hoagie roll (kind of like a ciabatta), this was by far the closest I have come to a real “hoagie” since moving here.

There's WHAT in Hendersonville?
That’s right! We have a beach sied restaurant. Waikiki it’s not, but still you can enjoy the outside on their huge patio. Barefoot Charleys’ doesn’t seem to need any help w/ promotion based on the over crowded parking lot last Sat. nite. Great atmosphere, food and service(though the business can slow the service, it’s STILL good service!
Dishes I tried:
Fish Tacos
Delicious! I never order the same thing twice, but I had to have these, again. I’m sure it will become my staple when I dine here. Blackened fish, cabbage, black beans, yummy house made sauce.

LOUD, BUT GOOD
HAVE WANTED TO GO HERE FOREVER AND FINALLY DID THE BUFFET ON SAT. W/ 3 FRIENDS. VERY IMPRESSIVE FOR THE LARGE CROWD OF PATRONS.
THE TECHNO MUSIC MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO HOLD A NICE CONVERSATION.
Dishes I tried:
SUSHI AND HOT JAPANESE BUFFET
THE OVERALL BUFFET WAS GREAT. I STAY AWAY FROM THE SUSHI W/ MAYO SAUCE, THOUGH…YUCK!

VERY GOOD!
THIS WAS OUR 1ST TIME HERE AND WAS RECOMMENDED BY OUR CHIROPRACTORS ACROSS THE STREET.
MY HUBBY AND I MET OUR FRIEND STEPHANIE HERE FOR AN EARLY WEEKNIGHT MEAL.
Dishes I tried:
SPICY CONCH
I’VE NEVER HAD CONCH PREPARED SASHIMI STYLE. IT WAS SPICED W/ LOTS OF HEAT AND HAD A WONDERFUL NON-RUBBERY TEXTURE
SQUID CURRY
THIS WAS BASIC THAI/COCNUT MILK RECIPE, BUT HAD GREAT FLAVOR, THOUGH THE SQUID WAS A BIT RUBBERY.

Sushi just down the street
This was my 2nd visit to Koi. It’s only about a mile from home and I am thrilled to not have to travel for sushi.
On both visits the sushi was very good, not the best I’ve had, but very doable. You get large portions for your $ wh/ this frugal gal likes, also.
Had a delicious “Ocean salad” wh/ was a new food experience for us.
My main complaint is the service. On both visits we had trouble in this area. The first visit we sat at the sushi bar and were not delegated a waitress, so anything we wanted other than the sushi chef’s offerings had to be obtained by hailing waitstaff as they rushed by.
The last visit, seemed rushed even though the restaurant was almost empty. Also, had a communication problem with our Chinese waitress.
Dishes I tried:
OCEAN SALAD
This was a mixture of finely chopped raw fish in a creamy orange-colored sauce w/ some nice spicy heat added. It was beautifully presented atop daikon and seaweed salad and garnished with a small pickled leek.

disaster in sheep's clothing
Finally, got a group of friends together to go to Woody’s and I was so embarrassed that this was MY choice of the venue. It was a disaster from the get go. Plugged toilet and freezing cold in the Ladies Room. Total lack of attentiveness at arrival. Waiting forever on each drink order, horrible and even way less than fresh food! The waitress kept apologizing, but did nothing to rectify the situation. The owner was walking around to all the tables, but totally ignored us and our displeasure. We were comped some “homemeade” cheesecake that was still frozen thru, and a tall piece of dry choc. cake. At the end another waitress came and was so nice and helpful. She did say this was “a bad night”. Also, “please try us, again,” and handed us a coupon that was ripped out of a preprinted coupon book.
Dishes I tried:
Orange Roughy Stuffefd w/ crab
This was foul, but at least not spoiled like the grouper 2 of my guests had. It was they premade thingy w/ a 1 in. square of breadstuffing that had no taste of crabmeat..tasted more like wet saw dust. The broc. side was a 1/2 of a whole head of broc. It was delicious, though looked unappealing. The salad was “white” iceburg w/ a radish slice and ital. drsg. wh/ was no more than cheap oil, vinegar and black pepper.
