Behemoth Burrito Madness!

Located kitty-corner from the Everett Events Center. This place is fast becoming popular. Get past the fact that you have to bus your own table. The setting area has an inner charm of an old brick building with bits of Mexicali decor. A family atmosphere feel.

Belly up to the counter and order your meal. Now, when they say “GRANDE,” they mean it. Bring your appetite here, and leave your inhibitions at the door. We’re talking total burrito indulgence ala feeling like you had a Thanksgiving meal and leaving with a take out container for left-overs. Their normal burrito is a grande by any other mexican restaurants’ standards. A Gordito’s Grande means you can feed a small country. Ok, so not maybe a small country, but easily a family of 4 people.

The food comes out hot and authentic. I measured it against socal and Baja California standards of mexican cuisine. Take the time to eat this food and savor every bite!

I can finally say, “Make mine big and make it wet!”

HUGE burrito stuffed with sauteed prawns, oinions, peppers, rice, whole pinto beans, cilantro, salsa, spices, and guacamole. It takes 2 tortillas to wrap this baby. Medium wasn’t as hot as I thought it was going to be, but there is a salsa bar to add to it. Get it wet, where they top your burrito with a sauce- in my case a tangy salsa verde. Then topped weith melted cheeses and sour cream.

Excellent Japanese Cuisine

A superb little japanese place that has more to offer than sushi. The seating area is very clean, and hip with the modern black-white decor. The staff are very polite and friendly, and clean. I witnessed the fellow at the sushi counter wash his hands many times throughout my meal. The big screen has various movies playing, as sort of background art.

I’ve been to this restaurant about 15 times since they opened. I have always had an excellent meal here. I mainly get the bento box since it has a variety of flavors and textures.

Lunch time can get busy and the quality is still consistently excellent. A few months ago they changed from very nice dinner-ware style wood chopsticks to the cheap takeout versions due to the volume of customers. I remarked to the fellow at the counter that their food is always so nicely presented and excellent, that it is uncomplimentary for them to use those cheap takeout sticks. Afterall, they have class. A few weeks later they replaced the sticks with a nice black composite version. My point is they pay attention to their customers and are interested in your feedback.

Simply an excellent meal. Starting with the miso soup- perfectly done (I prefer a bit more tofu, as I love tofu). I ususally get a green tea and it is the traditional powder style and very good. The hibatchi style chicken is very savory in a light mushroom-teriyaki based sauce that is delicious on the perfectly prepared rice. The tempura shrimp and veggies are “to die for!” (crispy, light, not greasy) perfectly dipped in the saki-tamari sweet sauce that comes with the bento. The salad is always fresh and crisp with a great seasame rice wine dressing. The california rolls are tasty bites (3 pieces).
All of this food comes with the bento. I plan to try some of their other dishes as well, but it is hard not to order the bento.
