5.0I am Eating Mor Chikin
Chick-Fil-A restaurants are all over the South, and I couldn’t be more pleased when they set-up shop here in San Diego. Oh, who am I kidding? I was thrilled!!!
The waffle fries are no comparison to any other french fries. They’re crispy and lightly seasoned.
I’ve tried both their Original Sandwich and Chargrilled Chicken Sandwich. They’re both outstanding! For simplicity, I’ll only discuss the chargrilled, which is marinated and boy is it juicy! It’s served with green leaf lettuce, tomato, and pickles. The sauce (served on the side) isn’t necessary to experience its splended flavor. If a fresh, juicy chicken sandwich is what you’re craving, look no further than Chick-Fil-A….just don’t show up on a Sunday, because they’re closed.
Drive-thru is an option and I have never experienced a decrease in quality when I opted for speedier service (drive-thru).
Dishes I tried:
Chicken Sandwhich
Love it, love it, love it.
Criss-cut fries
These fries are my absolute favorite! No one’s gonna change my mind, otherwise.

5.0My kind of bakery
This bakery is along one of the busiest streets in Hillcrest. There are two entrances. Although spaces are limited, parking is free if you park near the back entrance.
If you sit outside in the front, you’ll be able to people- and car-watch. Really fun to do on a gorgeous sunny day (most days in San Diego).
This is my kind of bakery because they have an array of choices for someone like me, a self-proclaimed dessertie. They sell breads, tarts, croissants, turnovers, muffins, cupcakes, flourless cakes. Need I go on? It may take a few minutes or so to figure out what you want to bite into.
If you’re looking for a meal, they sell sandwiches and I want to say espresso too.
Employees are pleasant even when it’s busy.
Dishes I tried:
Apple/Caramel/Strawberry Tart
Synergy. That’s a perfect word to describe this tart. None of the ingredients overpower the other.
If you like apple pie…and strawberries…and caramel…this is must-try. You’ll regret it if you don’t.
Raspberry/Chocolate Truffle
I don’t think I’ve ever come across anything like this. Hazelnut crust with a layer of raspberry, topped with chocolate and macadamia nut. This will satisfy your chocolate urges without all the guilt, well, maybe just a little.
