See other comments, it's bad!
I couldn’t agree more with the other reviewer. When we first mooved to Fallbrook, we visited Le Bistro and were informed by the owner that they were ‘the only truly European restaurant in the area.’ Hailing from Europe, I was quite excited by this claim, but that visit, and two or three subsequent visits, have revealed that the place is the only fake European dump in town! From the depressing oil painting on one wall to the quality of food and very bad service – primarily from the patron himself who we now refer to as ’Flat cap; due to his unusual choice of head ware, tp the totally unwelcome for families with young kids – the place is a dump – consider yourselved warned!

Great venue, great beer, very disappointing food
This place has every thing going for it… except the food. We’ve been there two times now and both times we have all been very disappointed by the food. Every attention has been given to the incredible restaurant with the impressive brewery on one side and a fantastic rock garden on the other, if only as much attention had been given to the menu which sounds great, but is bland and boring. Very, very disappointing.
Dishes I tried:
Everything but the sausages
Boring and bland – please get a good chef there.

Very disappointing
My continued search for great BB! has not finished at the Firehouse Broiler – far from it. If overcooked, dry food is your bag, then this is the place for you. We like the kid friendliness, with saddles for the little ones to sit upon, but that about does it for redeeming qualities I’m afraid. Reasonably priced, but very disappointing.

Good, but definitely room for improvement
I like CDA, but my wife is not so keen, primarily due to a few visits where service was dreadful. The proprietor, Michael, is a convivial host and it is interesting to get a tour of what ever art show is being hosted at the art center to which CDA is attached.
Servings tend to be a little on the small size for lunch, but the traditional soda fountain is put to good use.

Good food, but very poor service
We had such high hopes for SGL after reading the other reviews, and drove straight there. Unfortunately the service definitely detracted from the food. I suspect it was in some part due to the Steelers playing in the play-offs in the adjoining cocktail bar (the chef is a Steelers fan, as proved by his wearing their jersey) but every step of service was slow.
Food was good, though a little short of some of the other reviewers ecstatic levels, typical Italian really. I had the gnocchi sorrentino which was fine and wife had the cappelinni alla checca – again, unremarkable.
On the plus side, they went out of their way to make chocolate milk for the kids and the ambiance of the place is nice, but all in all, an unremarkable and (thanks to ecstatic, some would say unrealistic, reviews) disappointing dinner experience.
Dishes I tried:
Gnocchi Sorrentino
Well made gnocchi with tasty Parmesan cheese and spinach.
