Trung Nam French Bakery

 739 University Ave W
St Paul, MN

Awesome Addicting French/Vietnamese Pastries!

If you want the good croissants, go early to this bakery. I really love their chocolate croissants, but if I go past 9am, it’s usually gone already. It’s buttery, flaky, sweet and has fresh chocolate on the inside; I also tried the strawberry and apricot croissants, which were good also, but chocolate’s my fave. Their vietnamese sandwiches are awesome also, and very fresh and full of meat, cilantro, sauce, sweet carrots and jalepeno. I believe the sandwiches were $2.25 and $1.25 for the croissants, which is very reasonable!

Fortune House Chinese Cuisine

 2257 Rice St

One of the Best Chinese Food!

I haven’t eaten inside the restaurant for years, so don’t know how that’s been like; the take-out I order has been GREAT! The foods are still hot and steamy when we get home (20 minute ride), and they are very generous with their food portions; We’ve order the house fried rice (always packed full beyond the top), mixed meat dishes with veggies and the fried chicken wings with a dipping sauce. Everything was awesome, except for the chicken wings, they are a little plain, and the only thing that makes them okay is the sweet dipping sauce and because they are big. I know some people have complained about kids/family members using computers and hanging around in the dining area, and we did see that happening. We definitely will be ordering here again!

Pho 79

 2233 Energy Park Dr

Great Food!

I had lunch here with a friend around 1pm, so it wasn’t too busy inside the restaurant, although the parking lot was packed. They have a variety of pho noodles, mi noodles, rice dishes and appetizers, all at very reasonable prices. I ate pho with shredded chicken, and it was great, especially since I received jalepenos, bean sprouts, thai basil, and lime on the side to add if I wanted. The waiters were very attentive, asking for my order promptly and bringing out my foods very fast, hot and fresh. The amount of pho I received was generous compared to the price; if you like foods such as beef and tripe and tendons, you can get the special pho 79 bowl, which has all those, has way more foods, and is only about $7.95. Will be back when I have another chance.

Akita Sushi & Hibachi

Great foods but BAD Customer Service!

We went to Akita in Woodbury to celebrate a friends birthday (paid for AYCE). The food was fresh ( or seemed like it) and tasted great. I haven’t tried many sushi places so can’t really compare on the foods, just that it was tasty. The main thing that ruined our party was the VERY BAD service we received from the waitress; she was rude, gone for long moments at times when there were only 3 or 4 groups of people there, did not refill our water glasses, and after being there bout 20 minutes, it seemed like she didn’t want us to order any more foods; it is an all-you-can-eat, and we were not full at all. After all that bad service from her, our group of bout 14 had to tip her 15-18% because it was required of such a large group; she did not even thank us once or acknowledge us in a kind manner at all; i rather pay more some place else for better hospitality then pay cheap for extremely bad service.
