Great restaurant! I don’t even know where to begin. I went there for lunch a few weeks ago and enjoyed myself thoroughly. The ambience and atmosphere of the restaurant was typical of the Meat Packing District area. Very flashy modern decor with every waiter and waitress extremely attractive. Our waitress was fantastic. She was incredibly helpful in suggesting orders and was not stuck up or snobby as most restaurants are in that are of NYC. The food was to die for. I split a plate of sushi with my parents as an appetizer. We had a tuna roll, salmon and avocado roll, and an eel with avocado roll. The eel with the avocado was my favorite. Completely unique in comparison to the other eel and avocado rolls that I had. It had a delicate crunch, which was a nice compliment to that roll. For lunch, I ordered the Kobe beef bento box. It was quite the large serving. The bento box was of a higher class. The kobe beef was served with a salad, miso clam soup, seafood tempura with a creme fraiche sauce instead of the regular dipping sauce, and 6 pieces of sashimi and 3 pieces of sushi. The food was to die for. I was incredibly stuffed, but my mom insisted on trying desserts. We had some kind of bread pudding, which was alright. It was plated like a deconstructed bread pudding w/ the bread crumbles on the side. We also ordered some hazelnut cake which was fantastic. The sides to it were a pomegranite gelee and a very tart green apple. It was definitely an interesting dessert and I’d definitely order it again. I also ordered the White lily cocktail. I dont even know what was in it. But it was absolutely delicious. Sweet, refreshing, and without the taste of alcohol. Its a must order for sure. Morimoto was a great experience, and I’ll be sure to return another time!
