I’m a Francophile. My middle name is “cheese”. I love all cheeses so much, and wines, and everything in the French cuisine. Escargot, green peppercorn steak are my favorites.
Absolutely loathe Mexican food.

Beautiful view

This place had changed hands in ownership about three years ago. Last time we went there was a couple of weeks ago. I had a hamburger, which although pricey, but was very delicious! I ate it til the last crumb.
There’s a killer view and of course this is the reason to come to this place to begin with. But it doesn’t meant they can’t make some yummy dishes.

Interesing eatery

I was delighted to find this restaurant with Spanish dishes. They have a great selection of cheeses (mind you, my middle name is "cheese"). Anyways, we ate all sorts of tapas, every one of them tasty and just right. It was a good experience, although a rather expensive place. They also have a great selection of wines. A way to go!!!!

Can’t remember what they were, but everything was great. I need to keep a better eye on restaurants and the food next time I will write a review.

Lunch

I’ve been here now for the second time in maybe 15 years. The first time I remember them serving wine in a champagne glass, and that was kind of a turn off for me.
Now I was really hungry and decided to stop by again when in the neighborhood. I filled up quickly on the tasty apetizer: warm pita bread, hummus and pickles.
The hamburger was a mistake to order.

Hamburger patty was very dry. I think it had pieces of paper napkin (!?) in it.

Good deli food

It is a big restaurant with many tables. Locals come here for the good food! I mostly eat hamburgers when I go there for lunch. But everything is good.
But why I write this review here? Because of the poppy seed strudel. It is so delicious.

The price depends on the size of course. I think $4.95/Lb. The absolute best! I give it 10 stars. But the website designers didn’t have enough fantasy to allow proper rating for me.

Nice place

I started going to CPK when they opened up in the eighties. I ordered goat cheese pizza and a glass of wine. Since ever I’m ordering the same dish, always.
I like the atmosphere, the open kitchen where you can watch the cooks prepare the food.

The first dish I’ve ever ordered here. And I always eat the same. It’s removed from the menu long ago but they still make it upon request. Go for it!

Lunch or dinner

Whenever I crave a good pastrami sandwich this is the place to go to. The best anywhere in town. (Other Jerry’s Famous Delies are good, too.)

Oh so old Los Angeles...

I have to admit I haven’t been to this restaurant in ages. Let me think… it has to be a good ten years if not more by now. (Is it still in business?) I only rememember the place being rather old fashioned in appereance and decor; smelly from the inside (not in a good way). The only food I’ve ever eaten there was the steak bistro style with french fries. I think it is a good medium, as I still remember the food.
If I’m not mistaken the original owners were Basks, and left the place and area a long, long time ago.

German cuisine

I haven’t been in this restaurant for long, too. But I have fond memories of it. As with many restaurants, I have the tendency to order one particular dish over and over. Steak tartare isn’t available in many eateries, so I take advantage of it whenever I’m at Red Lion Tavern. I love this dish from back home (Hungary). Although it might turn a lot of people off… But I ask for lots of extra condiments which doesn’t normally served with it such as ketchup, Worchesteire, mustard. It’s so yummy, I must go there again soon!
