I was a sous chef for the shilo corp and leviated to a working chef at a northwest cuisine establishment. I like foods with a clean fresh approach and big flavor. I always have a passion to try different and unusual foods. fusion style is a favorite

excellent steak house

I stumbled on this place passing through sandpoint later in the evening. Although I showed up near the time of closing I was greeted and treated very greatly. the service was super!!!! They have a great selection of micro brews and have guiness(a personal favorite) on tap. the dining area has very well designed atmosphere. there is a super salad bar with great selection. they also serve a real nice fresh baked sourdough that tastes like it came from san francisco. they Have real butter and not the nasty imitations. Although I like a fattier more flavourful steak, I took the waitress’s suggestion and tried thier baseball cut sirloin. I was amazed how delicious and properely cooked this hunk of meat had came out.as a sttarch choice they offered pasta which I took. It was a penne noodle in a alfredo sauce. the pasta was cooked properly although the alfredo was blah. I would almost say it was a trio mix.clearly not a strong point.I tried this place four more times in the following months feeling it was well worth the drive from coeur d alene where I had been working. I had fish one time that had been overcooked (dry) and the other times stuck to the sirloin to see the consistency. Every time the steak was incredible. I also like how the chef takes the time to use fresh vegetables ,asparagas etc. i am not a fan of pre mix steam and eat veges. This steakhouse I would reccomend to anybody. with a little work on the sauces and seafood cook times this restaurant could very easily become one of those rare 5 star hideaways.

for the burger lovers

Paradise Burger in McCall is a great place for lunch. I am not a huge burger eater and was impressed to see thier wide selection for such a short menu. The prices are very reasonable for what they offer. It is a step up from fast food and the fries are purchased seperate from the sandwich. The menu consists of burgers, bigger burgers, chicken, fish and a Gyro. The menu also is kid friendly with a kid menu served with fries, chips and a drink for $3.50. For the bigger kids they offer 12 beers on draft. For the hungry people they have a burger called the punisher.it is a 1 lb. hamburger with bacon and your choice of cheese. They advertise if you are hungrier than that, ask aboat the MOAB.I wasn’t gonna go there. I had the BAJA which is Haddock fish on a pita with chipotle tarter, cabbage tomato, onion and pico de gallo. I had them serve it to me on a bun which was excellent. The fish was cooked to perfection and the chipotle tarter made a bold statement in taste.the cabbage made a nice crunch and the pico was fresh. I would eat here again for a quick lunch or maybe a dinner on the run.

Dishes I tried:
