Sake House
The sign out front says Sake House. This restaurant is by far the best eatery that I have been to in North County. It is situated on PCH between Leucadia and Encinitas. You must make reservations through the week and wait for a table if going on Friday or Saturday night. They are only open at night. They have capacity for about 25 people and this is a family run business. Parents cooking and daughters waiting tables. The food is authentic Japanese food where everything they serve is imported from Japan. They have the largest Sake collection in all of San Diego and many of their food items are tapas. My favorite dishes are the scallops and mushrooms, the tuna albacore with avacado in wonton skin and the BBQ beef salad even though I don’t eat beef. The dressing is fantastic with lots of garlic flavor on fresh greens. Your spouse or date can always eat the beef if you are a vegetarian. The price would be about $20 a person with no alcohol. If you go, be sure to make a reservation. Enjoy!
Dishes I tried:
BBQ beef salad
Delicious salad with lots of garlic and tender beef on fresh greens!
Scallops with Mushrooms
Lots of mushrooms in a creamy sauce with scallops. If you love mushrooms, you will love this dish.
Tuna Albacore with avacado in wonton skin
Probably the best tasting item on the menu. Fresh raw fish in a fried wonton shell with some delicious cream colored sauce. Fantastic!
