The Thai food is really great. The key is to ask for the “Thai menu”, which does have English translations despite the name. I recently went to Thailand and can say that the food is quite authentic and delicious. The dishes on the Thai menu you won’t find at most Thai restaurants in the area, making it particularly fun to go to.

Hands down the best Northern Italian food I’ve had around Boston. Much better than most places in the North End. It’s another pricey, upscale place, but if you have money or a special occasion to celebrate, it’s really wonderful. I highly recommend it.

If you’re craving some good, authentic, homecooked Southern Italian food, this is the place to go. Lots of simple but delicious dishes that you’re hardpressed to find in most North End eateries. Make sure you get whichever shape of pasta is homemade as that’s always the best one!

The sandwiches here are sublime. They do a great job of matching flavors together and the bread is just about as good as one can find in the Boston area.

Good BBQ is not easy to find around here, but Blue Ribbon dishes out some really great ribs, pulled pork, and burnt ends. Sometimes the meat can be a little on the dry side, but only a little. The sauce choices are wonderful; I always wish I could just rob the place of its sauce.

This is the place to go for if you want steak. Forget about Capital Grille or Morton’s, they don’t hold a candle. I don’t know how the other dishes are because we never order them, but it wouldn’t shock me if other dishes are OK but not great. It seems pretty clear to me that this is a beef kind of place. Do NOT miss ordering the tartar, it’s spectacular!

This is another fabulous, expensive nouveau French/Italian kind of place. The food we had here was inventive and delicious; the wild boar we had was unbelievably moist (I’d say succulent but I used that in a different review) and meaty (“moist and meaty!” sounds like a cool slogan). And the cocktails are actually fabulous, I highly recommend getting some if you go.

This is a newer restaurant with a chic interior. The oysters are wonderful and fresh (make sure you use at most the French-style dipping “sauce” which is basically white vinegar and shallots—-cocktail sauce is completely overpowering and pretty much negates the point of eating raw oysters!). The other dishes are OK but not exciting, and not really even the “best” in any way (the scallops we had were a bit dry and chewy). This is definitely a place to go for OYSTERS, forget about the rest.

The menu here has a nice assortment of dishes from different regions of India (in fact, the menu is divided into sections by region). There is a nice range of flavors that you don’t find at many Indian restaurants around here, and the flavors are always vibrant (OK, I’ve used this word a few times in reviews now, but I can’t help it, it seems so perfect!). Make sure to get one of the curries that uses coconut milk . . . they’re delicious.

The Ethiopian/Eritrean food here is really wonderful, and a nice change of pace from most of the other food you typically find in the area. I can’t really compare it to other similar restaurants as I’ve only been to one other, but I always love going here.
