Decent Mexican Food
This is probably the best Mexican restaurant that I have been to in the Chicago area. The food is good, the fares are reasonable, and service is quick. The three taco dish and spinach enchiladas are my favorites and I highly recommend them. Free chips/salsa and soup come with the entrees and the free dessert is a lollipop, which is better left on the table in my opinion. The entrees are well-portioned and you’re not hungry 2 hours later. It is a fairly popular restaurant for the area so it may be crowded at times, but the wait seems to be no longer than 15 min. The decor is rather interesting – large paintings of warriors with their maidens (some scantily clad) – which may make for entertaining dinner conversation. Lalo’s only real downfall is the live music; it can be loud enough that you have to yell at the server to place your order and occasionally obnoxious. But I have seen people get up to dance to it and if you enjoy mariachi music, this may be the place for you.
