NUMBER 3? TRY NO. 1!

I’ve been a Jersey city Heights resident all of my 31 years. I’ve eaten all kinds of food, and in JC, that means all shapes, sizes, nationalites, and ethnicities. But I always seem to come back to the Blimpie Base. Blimpie started it’s first franchise in 1964 in Hoboken NJ about 2 miles from my home. This restaurant is number 3 out of the few thousand stores now “called” Blimpie. But the problem with most is their not owned by one large company, so each one is different. Some use pre-sliced meats and cheeses(yuck.), some have bread that leaves lots to be desired. But this Blimpie is as original as it gets. Don’t let those Blimpies you might have eaten at in malls and gas stations turn you off from this retaurant. As far as I know its been owned by the same people for the last 40 years. They slice all their cold cuts in front of you. All the toppings are fresh. To me, this Blimpie is No. 1.
Now, there is another franchise out there that shall remain nameless that tries to pull you in with gimmicks, stupid commercials, and a 5 dollar footlong with less meat than toppings. And there is one located roughly 200 feet from this restaurant. But please, just drive on by. You’ll be glad you did. Because anyone from the Heights with taste always comes to the “Blimpie Base.” It may cost a few dollars more but it’s worth it and you’ll taste the difference and never look back. Come on, it’s been here for 40 years, fughetaboutit! Give it a try, it’s the best around.

Best of the best. Have it any way you want, no problem.
