must get the lobster gnocchi

It was quite possibly the best dish I’ve ever had…anywhere.

The gnocchi was made with white truffle flour and ricotta. It was topped with chunks of lobster and sat in a lightbroth that was both a little sweet, a little salty, and a little tangy.

Absolutely superb!

amazing

The food:
We had the chef’s tasting menu. You don’t choose your courses or see what they are before hand…it’s a complete surprise when it comes out of the kitchen. I’m a little ashamed to say that there was one thing that I couldn’t bring myself to try (sweetbreads), but everything else was delicious…none of the dishes are groundbreaking, unexpected or extraordinary, but it’s all very, very tasty. The portions are kind of big for a tasting and the desserts were full, regular size desserts…unfortunately, by that time we were stuffed and couldn’t have more than a bite. A+

The service:
My friend and I found the service to be a little condescending. We may look like two little girls who shouldn’t be able to go out like this, but looks can be deceiving and you don’t need to talk to us like we’re children. (Especially in a town like LV, they should’ve known better.)

The view:
Spectacular! We had a small table right next to the window and located at the top of The Palms, you’ve got a full view of the Strip and all the rest of twinkling Vegas…plus all the tables are spaced well enough and the lighting dim enough to allow you to feel like you’re the only ones there. It would be great for a romantic date.

The price:
As expected, it’s pricey (we also happened to share a half-bottle of wine that was equal to the cost of our meal…which by the way, is still one of the best bottles of wine I have ever had) but well worth it. It’s a meal we still talk about and I would go again.

Pay attention!

Pay attention to this restaurant…and your purse!

We went for a birthday dinner. The food was amazing and delicious as expected, but what wasn’t expected was that my friend’s purse was stolen! Right from under our table! As we arrived she put it down next to her feet under the table. Halfway through our meal, she looked down and it was gone. The staff was nice, asked around, and got all of the customer numbers for all her cards so she could cancel them immediately, but you just really don’t except that to happen at a fine restaurant like this.

Gotta get the stone crab claws!

I recently went for lunch which is quite pricey for a lunch meal, but it was absolutely excellent. The staff is really nice and knowledgeable so if you’re not sure what to order, feel free to ask their recommendation…we did and they were dead on.

Also, it’s a LEY so go and collect those points or use you git certificates. It’s great!

Dishes I tried:

Glazed Black Cod

It. Is. Like. Butter. Even though I’ve yet to go to any restaurant that’s done Black Cod poorly…it’s not available just anywhere and Joe’s does it spectacularly.

One of my favs

I’ve been here many, many times. Just this past weekend, I went there for brunch for the first time…and still they have yet to disappoint. I’ve tried their appetizers, pastas, other entrees, desserts, cappuccinos, cocktails, french toast…everything is delicious. Plus, their wait staff is super friendly and wonderful.

Also interesting to note…the back of the space used to be an old speakeasy and the front of the restaurant was previously Al Capone’s florist.

Dishes I tried:

Beet Carpaccio

My favorite…I get it every time. Thinly sliced beets, frisse salad, and truffle oil. Delicious!

This is a special, it’s not on their regular dessert menu, and I’ve only had it only once…but I still think about it.

good food court food

Very good for food court food. The sushi’s reliable, and I’ve also had the green bean chicken, but my favorite is the teriyaki salmon. Portion are big for the price.

Been there for lunch

It’s pricey…but if you’ve had an afternoon of label shopping and wanna treat yourself like an heiress, the food’s really good. I’ve had their rocket salad and the carpaccio before.

Solid choice for tapas

Yummy tapas. Delicious sangria. Great Really, really good prices. Great for really large groups of friends. Be prepared for a really long wait on Fri and Sat nights, though. And if on the day you go, they have the paella with noodles on the specials…get it!

Butter

It’s been a while since I’ve been. I remember it being really good. And I remember that I was thrilled that they had Inniskillin ice wine. But I also remember thinking that for the price and among the other nice restaurants in the same category, that once was enough.

Bucca Di Beppo

I had the lunch, dinner and take-out. I’ve had a lot of their dishes: bruschette, chicken saltimbocca, chicken with lemon, eggplant parmigiana, gnocchi al telefono, penne arrabbiata, and spumoni among others. Everything is tasty and consistent…but I go mostly because it’s convenient rather not because I have a great love for the place.

Dishes I tried:

Beware…it’s good but it’s also really, REALLY greasy. It had even made it’s to the bottom…the crust while still crisp was slick.
