"I'm taking eating to the next level"

I love to eat. I like everything as long as it is not to spicy. I am a big fan of warm bread, cheese, and popcorn. A good steak is nice too.

Harbor Treats

Jul 19, 2008 Link

Relaxed Atmosphere with hard to find WI-fi on MDI

Harbor Treats has a nice relaxed atmosphere. There is a selection of snadwiches and salads. They also have a beautiful dessert case, ice cream, and espresso style drinks. There is definitely something for everyone. They also offer free Wi-fi to customers which is great because Internet service is not always easy to find on Mount Desert Island.

Its hard to make up this mozarella and tomoatoe sandwich. This had good proportions all all ingredients.

Khan's Mongolian Grill

Apr 21, 2008 Link

If you don't like it, its your own fault.

Fill your bowl with veggies and noodles. Choose a meat and sauce and have it cooked up in no time. A good variety of vegtables, sauces, and meats. We enjoy this place as a healthy quick meal. If you don’t like your meal maybe you shouldn’t have put that in your bowl. Nice place to take kids although it can be a bit crowded on the weekends at lunchtime.

Tiger Mountain Grill

Jun 25, 2007 Link

Decent food, mediocre value

Tiger Mountain Grill has a selection of sandwiches, burgers, and pizzas on the lunch menu. The food tasted fine, but was nothing spectacular. The prices seemed slightly overpriced for the quality. I wondered why my daughter didn’t eat her fish and tried it. Too chewy. We went at 3:00. We had to wait a few minutes to be seated although there were plenty of tables. The service was also pretty slow. I suspect that there was only two waitresses on duty during this slow time of day. Our waitress was pleasant. However I think we had to wait a little extra because she had to take care of so many tables at once. I am guessing going at another time with more staff on hand would prove better service.

What I ate:
  • *

    Too chewy.

  • ***

Sandwich tasted fine with a generous portion of dip. The amount of cheese was minimal.

Noah's Bagels

Great bagels

This is a great bagel place. You know they are good because there is always a long line. Their servers are not the most efficient but the bagels are yummy. I highly recommend the holiday gift package. You get a dozen bagels a month, two coffee mugs, and a pound of coffee for under $35.

Bahama Breeze

Feb 18, 2007 Link

Good quality food in a relaxed atmosphere

Bahama Breeze is mostly like your typical chain restaurant in terms of menu, price, and atmosphere. The one thing that set it apart for me was that their ingredients seemed to be very fresh. When they say fresh fruit they mean it. Our server kept bragging that everything was made from scratch. I felt the strengths in their menu were salads and mixed drinks.

What I ate:

This dish had lots of varied vegetabels along with a generous portion of salmon. Tasted great and the price was quite reasonable.

This soup was quite unlike any chicken tortilla soup I have had before. It had a clear broth and a large variety of vegetables.

This soup was quite tasty. Even so it just seemed like Marinara sauce with bread chunks. MAybe I could make this at home.

Pallino Pastaria - Issaquah

Feb 12, 2007 Link

Tasty Food, Overpriced

This is a relaxed pasta eatery. Order at the counter and have your food delivered to your table. The pasta is tasty although I think it is rather on the pricey side for this type of joint and considering the small portion sizes (for an Italian place). The staff is friendly and it is family friendly.

What I ate:

Tastes fine. Has a nice walnut garnish.

Sweet Addition Candy and Cafe

Feb 12, 2007 Link

Leave room for dessert or just have dessert

This is a cozy little cafe. They have a small line up of sandwiches and many delicious salads. Their dessert selection, however, is at least three times that of their food. Everything looks delicious. They also offer coffee and ice cream. If you havn’t had your fill of sugar they also have a candy store in the adjoining building.

What I ate:
  • ****

You get to pick three salads of your choice and a roll. Plenty of food for a meal plus a little to take home later. I really like their tarragon chicken salad,

IHOP

Feb 5, 2007 Link

Clean and not so sticky

I used to refuse to eat at IHOP because I hate the stickiness factor (things covered in syrup, sticking to the seat and menu, etc). The IHOP in Issaquah is pleasantly non-sticky. This means I can enjoy a nice full meal at a nice cost. I have eaten here several times now and the servers are friendly. Most times we don’t have to wait more than 5 minutes to be seated. The food is consistent and always tastes fine.

What I ate:

I had this breakfast with the Swedish pancakes. All was decent and tasted fine.

  • **

The hash browns are nice and crispy on the outside. However I find them very mushy, rather like mashed potatoes on the inside. Tastes fine but gets bad marks due to poor texture.

Coho Cafe

Oct 21, 2006 Link

Relaxed atmosphere

Coho cafe has a nice selection of seafood. There is a definite Asian influence on many of the menu items. Service is always good. The desserts and seafood bisque are my main reasons for going there.

What I ate:
  • ****

A good mix of seafood in a nice creamy broth.

  • ***

The steak was a little dry and salty. But I guess I am picky when it comes to steaks.

  • *****

This was absolutely fabulous. Warm, gooey and chocolatey, but not too rich.
