Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant
Jul 7, 2008
The BEST Margaritas
The food is good and it’s a great place for hanging out with friends, but the main reason I come here is for the Margaritas. They are the best!
Rubio's Fresh Mexican Grill

The BEST fish tacos
We’ve been eating at Rubio’s since we lived in San Diego too long ago to mention. I still remember thinking, “Fish tacos? Ugh!” But, they are so good! I highly recommend the Pesky Combo. Rubio’s has many other choices too for those of you who don’t like the idea of fish tacos, but I’m telling you, at least try one! You’ll be hooked!
Hacienda Colorado

Too trendy for me
I don’t get why this restaurant is considered such a big hit. The restaurant is beautiful, but I think it’s overpriced for food that is much like Tex Mex food. I feel like they spent so much money on the atmosphere that they forgot to pay attention to the menu. Anyone who goes here won’t be disappointed, but unless you like this kind of trendy restaurant, you won’t necessarily feel like you got your money’s worth either.
3 Margaritas Family Mexican

Excellent - Not Tex Mex
Even though this is a chain, I find this restaurant to feel like a local, family-owned place. The menu has a large selection and includes many authentic Mexican dishes. It’s nice to have real Mexican food instead of standard Tex Mex fare. The bacon wrapped shrimp is excellent. The shrimp with mushrooms dish is excellent. The Colorado Burrito is excellent. The salsa is excellent. It’s fun to go when the Mariachi band plays too. There is seldom a wait. Great place for lunch or dinner.
Red Lobster

Always good!
I’ve always enjoyed Red Lobster so when I had to meet a friend up north, I was happy to see there was a Red Lobster in the vicinity. Lunch was very good, although my soup was served luke warm. Other than that, this restaurant lived up to the Red Lobster quality and service I’ve come to expect.
Chili's Grill & Bar

Best burgers at a chain!
Chili’s is another chain restaurant that can be relied upon for great quality and flavor. Most people love their fajitas and I think they’re the best fajitas of all the ones I’ve eaten at restaurants. I also think that Chili’s has the best burgers of all the chain restaurants. I love their Presidente Margaritas, their boneless buffalo wings and their lettuce wraps. However, I have never liked their chips and salsa. I think their chips are too thin and not very flavorful and their salsa isn’t spicy enough. Regardless, I think Chili’s is a great restaurant!
Red Robin

Reliable quality and flavor!
We’ve been eating at Red Robin for over twenty years. They opened one in Boulder when we were in college and we used to love to go there for Buffalo Wings and beer. We still go to Red Robin quite often. The variety of food on their menu pleases everyone in a crowd. We love their unlimited fries dipped in their delicious ranch dressing. Their Cobb Salad has always been one of my favorites. Our kids love the petite option for burgers because they have more varieties than the children’s menu burgers. Overall, Red Robin is a reliable restaurant for quality and flavor!
Jose O'Sheas

Loyal Customer
I have been eating at Jose O’shea’s for over twenty years and I still enjoy it every time I go. My favorite dish is what used to be called the Flauta Americana. I’m not sure what they call it now, but it’s a shredded beef burrito with rice and other ingredients inside. Their Margaritas are excellent. Sadly, they have not had Kahlua Mousse for several years, but I keep asking for it in hopes that they’ll bring it back onto the menu!
Luigi's Bent Noodle

Great value!
We really enjoy eating at Luigi’s, especially when we’re tired of the chain restaurants. They have reasonably priced and delicious Italian food. They also have an affordable wine list. I’ve liked everything I’ve tried on their menu. My favorite indulgence is their Polenta and their Tiramisu.
Cafe de France

I recommend Cafe de France
I enjoy Cafe de France for reasonably priced and good French food. I grew up eating many of the dishes they serve, so it’s my form of “comfort food.” For people who don’t want the richer foods, they also have lighter fare (e.g., sandwiches, salads, etc.). I’m disappointed in two things: they can’t be relied upon to have good French pastries all the time and their French Onion Soup doesn’t have loads of crusty melted cheese on top. Other than that I recommend this restaurant and have eaten there many times.

I'm a fan!
