Pinetta's

Not for vegetarians
- A point for vegetarians – I’m told the red sauce has meat in it, which is not a fact they disclose on the menu.
Monjunis Italian Cafe and Grocery

Yummy
Monjuni’s is great. I have been there a few times since I first went just over a year ago. I really like their red sauce. It is a little sweet (that must be the ‘Cajun’ flair), but it’s right up my alley. The eggplant parmesean is excellent. The place is a little pricey, but with the lack of good Italian food restaurants in Baton Rouge, it stands out as one of my favorites.
Kamado's Japanese Grill & Sushi Bar

Very good sushi in BR
Kamado’s is great – the sushi is very good and always fresh. I am a big fan of the vegetable tempura as well. The only bad thing I can say about Kamado’s is that it can be REALLY cold inside, so ladies, bring a sweater.
Thai Kitchen

Disappointing
Thai Kitchen used to be one of my favorite restaurants in Baton Rouge, but since they have expanded, the quality of the food has gone down and the prices have gone up. They even charge you now for each additional cup of rice to accompany your meal. The service at Thai Kitchen has not been good for a long time and we were even told once that if we didn’t sit in the smoking section, we wouldn’t be seated, even though many tables were still open in the non-smoking area. I prefer to visit the other 2 Thai restaurants in Baton Rouge (Rama or Thai Pepper) where the food is great and reasonably priced and the customer service is much better.
