First impression of restaurant is misleading...

I thought that it would be a great choice for a romantic dinner for my fiancee and I. I was only half right. The restaurant is classy and chic and makes a great first impression. Unfortunately, I think that the chefs were sleeping in the kitchen. The wine list and drink menu was pretty extensive but slightly over priced for the area in my opinion. The dinner menu seemed to show alot of potential. Again, at first glance, rather pricey…but once I received our food I was very unsatisfied. For the price that they charged for the plates, I would have expected heaven in my mouth. It was not. The carpaccio was overpowered by raw shiitake mushrooms and was more like a plate of shaved parm cheese. The eggplant app ws nice, but def NOT worth $15. Then I made the grave mistake of ordering the veal special. It was horrible. It was grilled and over cooked. It was chewy and caused me send it back. It wasnt worth paying $35 for. The manager acted accordingly and gave me a different entree of the chicken rollentini. That was much better. Over all, I give 2 out of 5 stars. I dont recommend it.

Small portion that was very bland and under seasoned. I have had much better tuna for much cheaper.

The description was very misleading. It was Eggplant & Zucchini fried chips with a fried cheese sample and some ricotta cheese under the eggplant chips. Pretty plate but not worth the price!

Carpaccia

The beef was overpowered by the mushrooms and it was covered with shavings of parmiggiano reggiano cheese. I couldnt taste the beef at all and that is why you order carpaccio isnt it??

The name says it all.

It is a brew works, so of course they have beer, and a large assortment at that. My boyfriend tried the sampler and had a tremendous amount of beer served to him for only $8. He seemed to like most of them. Now he has had samplers at other breweries and I will have to say the only down side to the sampler at BBW was that there was no card saying what each beer was. I stuck with martinis, priced about right with good taste! Now our reason for stopping was we had an hour to kill before our dinner reservations and we wanted a quick bite with some drinks…BOY, did we make a mistake with our order! We decided to go simple and get the sipnach artichoke dip with our drinks to snack on while we waited…and it was DISGUSTING! DO NOT ORDER IT! I have heard that other items on their menu are ok, but this was just inedible. I am not sure what they were thinking.

I suggest!!!

What an amzing assortment of cuisine! Make reservations, you will need them. But if you can get in the door…you will not regret it! The atmosphere is great and the restaurant is lovely. Cozy and warm while classy enough to be considered “fine” dining! The drinks are great, the service was good, and the food was to die for. I eat here enough that I could just break the bank!

Fun bar. Good bar food

What a fun place! I will say though, the parking isnt that accomodating. You would think that by the parking lot that the restaurant was packed, but dont be deceived. I have been there many times now and I have never had to wait to be seated. The drinks are good and the bartenders are fun. TV’s at every table make it easy to watch whatever sport venue you want! I highly recommend the wings. They are just how I like them…I do get the well done though! If you are looking for a fun time on a Friday night, Rookies is perfect. Happy hour is catered (although I am never there in time for it) and drinks are half priced. Then a band gets there around 10. They have theme nights all month, half priced hamburgers, wing specials, and drink specials as well. I think it is a great local spot!

Spend the extra $25 Bucks and go to Philly!

I was very excited to have a Brazilian steakhouse here in the Valley, since we are big fans of Fogo de Chao in Philly and Churrascarria in NYC. I had checked out about it online and called 2 weeks in a row to get a reservation on a Saturday night. The first Saturday they were completely booked and the next Saturday, I had to wait till 8 pm to get a small table for 2 in the middle of the dining room.

Again, we are both very familiar with Brazilian steakhouses, and the only reason that you go there is meat, meat, and more meat. I am guessing that we couldn’t get a reservation based on the fact that this place is new and people around the area have never seen anything like this before. Please trust me, it is NOT good!

When we got there we were greeted by a server (who just brings you drinks and fills your sides of fries and fried bananas) and he didn’t do that very well. I was slightly worried when the waiter told us that it was only $23 per person since we have never paid less the $55 per person, but I figured since it was Nazareth and they wanted to draw a crowd they were leaving their prices low.

We flipped our little discs to the green side (which means that the waiters with skewers of meat start bring options to your table) and started eating.

The meat was BAD!! There were not that many choices (they told us that there were 16, but I couldn’t have counted more then about 10, and there was barely any beef! If you have been to a Brazilian restaurant before you know that the best thing cooked over that open fire is beef, and their specialty is to Top Sirloin…but not at Rios.

If you are a “meatatarian” like we are then you honestly need to spend the extra $25 per person and drive to Philly or New York and go to a REAL Brazilian steakhouse. Just because you have an open fire pit and some men walking around with meat skewers DOESNT make you a Brazilian Steakhouse…Someone should let Rios know that!!

Off the beaten path but worth the trip!

I thought this place was really great. I was there a couple of months ago so forgive me if I am not as detailed as usual but I can tell you, the chefs really out do themselves with this menu. It is changed seasonally and they grow their own vegetables and herbs in the back of the hotel! I am not quite sure how family friendly it is as they only have 8 tables or so in the main dining room and it is very small. They do have an indoor patio that was built on to the restaurant but if it is cold or the weather is bad I would not want to sit there. If you are looking for a 5 star meal made from local ingredients from chefs who have a true passion for food then this is your place.

AMAZING Nuevo Latino food!

I checked this place out a couple of weeks ago and I thought it was WELL WORTH reviewing!

When you walk in the door of this restaurant you can’t help but feel welcomed. The warm paint colors splashed all over the walls and the waterfall next to the decorated bar made me excited to see what the menu had to offer. We sat down in a round booth and were greeted immediately with bread and water. Then I looked at the menu….You can say that I was extremely excited to see what the food was like because it was all described deliciously on the menu.

We decided to start off with the trio of oysters and a pair of oyster shooters. The oysters were kind of pricey and I actually enjoyed the cheapest of the three the best. They were served with a champagne mango mignonette that was one of the best I have ever had!

To go with our oysters we each picked 2 drinks, I had the Caipirosa de Fresa with fresh strawberries, vodka, muddled limes and sugar and my boyfriend had the Caipirihna, Brazil’s classic drink, with rum, muddled limes, sugar and freshly squeezed lime juice, garnished with a stick of sugar cane (the real deal!). We were both pretty impressed.

Then we went with the trio of empanadas (we had a hard time choosing one of anything because everything looked so good!). The fillings were duck, beef, and shrimp filled inside a flaky pastry shell and fried. My favorite was the duck but they were all tasty!

Then we went on to our entrees which were amazing (I know that I have said that many times now, but I truly believe it!). I had the Pan seared tilapia with yucca crust and corn and lobster cream sauce. It was a perfect balance of salty and sweet with the crust of the fish and the creamy corn & lobster sauce. I would highly recommend it! My boyfriend ordered the Churrasco a la Parrilla which was grilled skirt steak with stir fried rice with sweet plantain and lobster and a DELICIOUS braised garlic mojito sauce. If your mouth is watering, it should be! It was perfectly cooked medium rare but the sauce that it was paired with was the perfect accompaniment to the seasoned meat. The fried rice was nothing to sneeze at either.

Needless to say, this restaurant was EXACTLY what the Promenade Shops needed, a beautiful delicious restaurant that I can honestly say was one of the best meals that I have had in the valley!!

The best pizza that I have had in the valley!

I can say that this place knows how to make pizza! I was so excited when I tasted the first slice, it was cooked perfectly, had a thin crust, delicious sauce, and the perfect amount of cheese! Am I making you hungry? Well, just the thought of this pizza makes my mouth water! If you love pizza as much as I do, you will want to stop in this place.

I would have definitely given 5 stars but I am bothered by the fact that they dont deliver. But well worth it anyway! I honestly dont think that anyone can tell me that they have had a better piece of pizza in the area!

Good steakhouse right in my backyard!

I thought that this place was great. I was greated and served by friendly people and the meal just started off so pleasant. What a nice surprise, pickles were brought to my table as soon as we sat down, I would have never guessed…LOL!

We both ordered steak. NY Strip is my favorite cut and it was great. It says something when a steakhouse knows how to cook a steak to the proper temperature. And the flavors that they marinated the steak in before grilling were great!

I love steak, it is one of my favoite things to order, but unfortunately as much as I hated it, I had to go to overpriced Outback to get a decent piece of meat…NOT ANYMORE! I recommend Pickles any day of the week!
