I was thrilled to find this place in this previously thai-forsaken neighborhood. Some of my personal favorites on the menu are the red curry (wonderful fresh vegetables and the sauce of perfect consistency and adjusted to taste) and the steamed veggie dumplings (tastebud-tingling mix of healthy goodies and spices). The service is consistently warm and friendly. The decor is tasteful and not overly hip like the copycat thai places that have popped all over the city. The music is soft enough for conversation but interesting enough to pique your attention, and they feature excellent jazz musicians on some nights. Hope they keep up the good work!

What a find in the dismal overcrowded Midtown West! There are so many things going for this place – the ambiance is good-natured, warm and simple. No loud music (barely any music at all! what a treasure in new york these days! you can actually hear the people at your table!) The waiters are extra nice and seem to be happy to be there.
The menu is a few steps up from a regular diner menu – I had the mahi mahi fish special, and the sauce was super tasti, the fish was perfectly fresh, and the veggies were grilled with love. Yum! My friends (10 of us) were all happy with everything they got (cobb salad was a particular recommendation). There’s plenty of great stuff there for everyone – vegetarian, fish, pizza, meat. This is really a mixed bag, but all well prepared. I left with a great feeling, and I know I’ll be coming back!

the biggest selling point for Imagine is its spacious, magical garden in the back… it’s about as romantic as the East Village gets, so green and comfortable.. the food is a mix of Mexican and American, moderately priced and decent preparation – nothing I’d come back for, but sipping frozen margaritas in the garden was just perfect…

Excellent find in Brooklyn Heights! The atmosphere is warm, friendly, and elegant, and not-too-loud. I had the mushroom-lingonberry duckling, which was succulent, super-flavorful and plentiful (a bit too plentiful, actually). One thing I thought was strange was that the wine glasses were really small (the size of the glass, not the amount of the wine).

Pukk vegetarian Thai has the BEST lunch special in the entire east village (and trust me, I’ve tried them all). The menu is a bit more inventive than your usual Thai place, the atmosphere is is hipster-cool-thai, and the food is all great. The lunch special includes a soup, an appetizer, and a good-sized entree – all for under $7. you’re in for a treat…

this is our regular weekend brunch spot – find us there on most weekends around 10:30 am, with some other regulars and amazing waitresses. NOTHING beats Curly’s brunch on the weekends (and everything else is great during the week) – the specials are perfectly balanced, from quality ingredients and impeccable preparation. Everything is made with love and care, and the owners are usually there, happy to adjust the menu just for us :) It’s home away from home for us – just one more reason to look forward to the weekends :)

my new favorite restaurant on the curry row (6th st between 1st and 2nd ave) – With lovingly spiffed up interior and super-friendly service, beautiful presentaiton, and extra-value dinner specials – this is my new favorite Indian restaurant in the city! We had the vegetarian thali special and the chicken tikka massala special – both were delicious, flavorful but not-too-spicy, and just a wonderful combination of flavors and sensations. Yum – check it out! Highly recommended.
