COULD IT GET WORSE

Back again --- as a guest. This time the host had a plastic screw in his fish. The guy running place, at first, refused to make an adjustment… until pressed. It was a horrendous scene. Enough said…. never again!

GREAT SETTING - LOUSY SERVICE

This hotel/restaurant is in a great setting. This is my third visit. Went there for breakfast. The hostess, a very attitude obsessed woman, greeted us with no smile and we’re doing you a favor surliness. No “good morning” or “may I help you” but nada. We were not alone… she did this with what I assume were paying guests. Tables were empty and she had patrons stand for a couple of minutes while she sat the table and then said “sit there.” When we asked for coffee she said I will get the server. He arrived. You had to ask for coffee and place settings and everything. Breakfast for two, with tip, was nearly $50. He served the wrong omelette’s, everything was piled on two plates, including the toast and bagel, there were no bread plates or butter knives. On pad of butter and one selection of jam for two. He didn’t write the order and obviously has memory problems. I had to ask for the orange juice after ten minutes and the waiter said he wasn’t in charge of that it was the bar tender. Give me a break. And with so much pretension it was mind boggling. If these “servers” were actor/waiters it would be understandable but in this economy can’t they find better help than this. There was a rather elegant looking older couple and they were greeted with “you guys will have to wait.” This place is not five stars but barely one star. Never again until they guarantee no more attitude from the help! The omelette’s were so so and rubbery.

DINK'S

Stick with the hamburger. Menu is a nightmare. They don’t have bread except “cheese” garlic bread that belongs in some chain. Restaurant is attractive, large and should have been built in South Palm Springs. The North part of Palm Springs is the new Watts of the Desert.
