Fantastic burgers-great sides
This place has great, unique burgers. You get to pick your own ingredients to add into the beef before it’s cooked, choices of cheese and sauces, then it’s cooked to perfection. Sides like mac and cheese, sweet potato fries, chili peppered onion rings complete the meal perfectly. Nice selection of beer and wine as well. Service is leisurely, no rushing here.
Dishes I tried:
1/3 pound Angus Burger
Had them add, jalapenos, sundried tomatoe and roasted yellow peppers with monterey jack on top, peppered onion rings as my side. Delish!
Calamari
Big planks of tendet Calamari with a sweet and spice dipping sauce that was a perfect compliment. Shared with three others and it was plenty

Yummy and fun
Went with a group of 12 on a Friday night homecoming weekend. It was packed but I guess this is pretty normal. They are small in size but big on flavore and it seems everyone knows this. We waited about 90 minutes but enjoyed cocktails and appetizers at the small (read minute)bar. Staff is super friendly and they pour a nice drink. Bar is limited though. Food was great. Loved the casual college town atmosphere.
Dishes I tried:
Big Rig pasta
Big is right. In size and flavor. Split this with a friend and it was plenty.

Great place!
My hubby and I were in town for NAU ho,ecoming (visiting a friends daughter) and this place was recommended by the hotel. Loved it! Great selection of micro brews and a full bar as well as a great menu. A lot of interesting choices, Thai spice mussels anyone? My husband and I both went for the Beaver Street Burger. Easily in my top three best burgers. Super flavorful and the fries were perfest. Service was great as well. Will vist again next time we’re in the area.
Dishes I tried:
Beaver Street Burger
Lot’s of flavor, juicy! The basil pesto mayo makes it awesome!

Great Italian tucked away
This is a restaurant/deli that delivers the goods. They make their own bread and sausages and fantastic canolis. Service was friendly and prompt. I highly reccomend both the deli and the restaurant.
Dishes I tried:
minestrone
Homemade and everything you’d want in a good bowl of minestrone
linguine with clam sauce
Yummy! Pasta cooked perfectly, generous portion, tender clams! Loved it
canoli
Save room for this traditional Italian dessert.

Great food as always
Our food was great as it is always here. The service was a little less attentive than I’m used to but not bad. Only waited 5 minutes to be seated on a busy Satuirday afternoon.
Dishes I tried:
California Chicken Burger
Chicken was perfectly cooked. Nice amout of guacomole. Tasty! Got the garlic fries to go with. YUMMY

Beautiful setting
Finally went to Hacienda de Vega, been meaning to since they opened. This is a great place for a romantic or family meal. the setting is beautifiul. Lots of flowers and plants arounf a pond with a great roof top waterfall. Food was great, service was ok. For the price and setting I expected a more attentive server. Food was out quickly but no drink refills etc.
Dishes I tried:
Enchiladas de Mole
Super flavorful. Comes with refrid beans and rice. Their beans are creamy and the rice moist and full of vegies, very nice. The enchilads were a perfect portion of shredded chicken in two corn tortilla smothered in a rich and sweet mole. I loved it and my Margarit de Senor complimented it perfectly.

French done right
The ambience is welcoming and the food is prepared pefectly. I love everything about this restaurant, The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and proffessional. They hire and train well. The wine list is expansive and Vincent always has seasonal specials that really grasp the flavors of the fresh ingredients.
Dishes I tried:
Duck Breast
Wonderfully prepared with a light sauce served with carrots, leeks and wild rice. Beautiful on the plate
Roasted Red Pepper Soup
Included with my entree. Every soup I have had here has been an explosion of flavors in my mouth. This is where the chef shines in my opinion.

Great evening
This restaurant is one of two at the Rancho Bernardo Inn and overlooks the golf course. We had reservations just at dusk and it was beautiful. The grounds are something else. Service was just the right level of attentiveness. Everything I needed was at my fingertips but I didn’t feel hovered over. Shared two appetizers, the crab cake and the ahi. Both were very tasty and attractive. The bread basket with sun dried tapinade was also very tasty, had to use my will power to not fill up. The drinks are well poured and they have an extensive wine selection. Too full to have dessert but they looked lovely. Enjoyed the live music as well.
Dishes I tried:
Braised Short Ribs
Super tender and rich. Served with a parsnip puree and swiss chard.

Slow, enjoyable evening
I’ve been wanting to get up to the brewery since they opened and finally got there this last Friday. Got there about 7pm and had to wait 40 minutes for a table for two. I expected this and my husband and I got drinks at the bar (beer for him wine for me)and walked the gardens. I loved it. The food was well prepared and presented beautifully. Our server was very friendly but service is a bit slow. Again I was prepareed for this and was able to enjoy myself in the leisurley pace. The portions are just right for me. Filling but you won’t feel stuffed. You can comfortably eat an appetizer as well as dessert. Definitely save a little room for dessert and get the Chocolate Pyramid. It was the best chocolate dessert I have ever had (and I have had a lot).
Dishes I tried:
Lamb chops
This was the chef’s offering that night. The chops were seasoned well and cooked perfectly at medium rare and served with butter poached potatoes (delish) and ratatouille (a little salty but very good)

Good food and ambience
Have been here three time. Once just for wine and twice to eat. The space is decorated beautifully and the wine and beer list is varied. The food is great. They have a couple of full dinner choices but mostly small plates perfect for sharing with friends over a glass of wine. Quiet most evenings with the exception or Tuesdays (Farmer’s Market) and Fridays (Cruisin’ Grand). Worth a stop.
Dishes I tried:
Baked Goat Cheese in Phyllo
sweet and pungent, delightful
White Cheddar Chees taste Roll
Chees bread never tasted so good
Tossed Tuscan salas with grilled chicken
A wide variety of taste and textures that you wouldn’t think would mix but they do, wonderfully! Would order this every time.
Maria Continental Salad
Another great, hearty salad with flavor galore.
