Excellent!

One of Greensboro’s best Japanese secrets. The sushi here is first rate. This is also a great place to do Small Business networking. It is high-class enough to impress a client and a novel place for a perfect first date. Get to know your new client/friend over hot plum saki. Be sure to try the octopus, it is excellent! It is soft, not chewy, very well prepared!

Not sure you’ll like sushi? Try it for a business casual lunch. The California rolls are excellent. I was raised in the South and I’m telling you. Regardless of what you believe about raw fish, sushi is excellent!

Keep the soy sauce close and try fresh sushi a la carte. Get the Omega-3s you need for brain health and please tip your waiter. Wasabi is doing our NC communities a favor by introduciong a chic, friendly, and delicious way to eat healthy.

See you there!

Consistantly Delicious...

I’ve been ordering take-out from #1 Chinese for about 15 years now. They have the most outstanding Sesame Chicken in the Triad.

Don’t let the location fool you. They’ve been in the same College Village store front for nearly 20 years.

They are unpretentious and friendly. There is basically no language barrier to speak of and the owners are very professional.

This place has been a well-kept secret. Even High Point University students don’t really know! Call in the order and pick it up in about 15 minutes.

The lunch specials are generous and they don’t skimp on sauce or condiments.

Other must-try’s are the Beef Lo Mein, the Standard Egg roll, and the egg drop soup. All are prepared fresh and the taste is quite spectacular.

This is a take-out place…no real seating to be had here. So, give them a call on your way home from South High Point back to the North end.

Leave your name with your order.

You’ll be glad you did!

Yum! I order it not-so-spicy…but I hear it is excellent with the heat on too!

BBQ for the Rest of Us!

Flavorful and inexpensive are two words I use to describe a local favorite BBQ restaurant in Kernersville, NC. People from all over the Triad enjoy both Lexington and Eastern style barbeque here.

  • Eastern Style – More Vinegar – less pepper – based
  • Lexington Style – More Tomato – less vinegar -based

My first experience came about through a friend’s referral. We were on our way to Hanging Rock State Park and stopped to eat.

The first thing you notice about the place is that it’s set off the road a bit. It seems that the city grew up around it.

Inside there are hard wooden booths and chairs. The tables are covered with a red gingham checked tablecloth. I felt like I was in the fabled Dukes of Hazzard’s Boar’s Nest except the lighting was much better.

The process is simple. You place your order at the counter. The people behind you will expect you to know what you want if you are in front of them in line.

Then you receive your ticket with a number. Make your own drink and take a seat. When your number is called pick up your food. The wait will be 5-7 minutes on average.

I have to admit, although the decor reminds me of something like a James Dean/Elvis/NASCAR museum it wasn’t garish. The bathrooms were clean.

I think that to be truly comfortable at Prissy Polly’s you might want know a little bit about racing, bluegrass music, farming, and have an accent thicker than molasses – just to translate the staff accurately.

It’s pretty tasty, ya’ll!

I had a lunch special which included either type BBQ, two sides, hushpuppies (fried cornbread balls), a drink and dessert for about $7.
