House of Curries

Jan 4, 2008 Link

I eat here ALL the time!

I love this place so much, I went almost every week for two or three months! I’m not sure if I’ve become a regular there or if the cashier is always friendly, but he always greets me with a big smile when I walk in the door.

I always get the Chicken Tikka Marsala with 2 Potato Naans! Its so good. My roommates love this place and sometimes we go in and split one amongst the three of us. The best part is the free milk tea..i like it with two spoonfuls of sugar.

A great place to sit back and just hang out with friends or just if you have a hankering for some curry. It is definitely a lunch time favorite!

What I ate:

A very popular dish amongst my friends and not that pricey either!

Slanted Door

Jan 4, 2008 Link

A Great Place for SF or Fusion first-timers!

The Slanted Door is sometimes seen as overrated, but my experiences there have been nothing sort of satisfactory. I really enjoyed the food and is a place I always take visiting family or friends.

The first time I went to Slanted Door was for a business dinner and we somehow managed to grab seats on the water front. It is beautiful especially when the sun is setting. It has a great view from the Ferry Building and great food to go with it.

The shaking beef came highly recommended and the caramelized prawns weren’t bad either. Definitely recommend this restaurant for people who want to experience fusion food or people just looking for a good place to eat.

Extra Plus: Parking is fairly easy to find and you can get it validated so you won’t pay so much from the restaurant

Very good! Over priced at $24…but still really good!

Skate's on The Bay

Mar 22, 2007 Link

Beautiful View Right on the Bay~

Though the meal was quite costly, I went at a time when they had the 3-course meal with appetizer, entree, and dessert all rolled into a big price of $29.99. I had the lobster/crab dip with bread, the steak, and burnt cream.

Everything is good, but not sure if it was worth the price. The steak was a little on the salty side, but it didn’t stop my date from dosing it w/ more salt and pepper.

I highly recommend the burnt cream..its like Creme Brulee, but i guess they wanted to be more creative.

Some think its a little overrated, but I think it was good. Though perhaps it was a little too hyped up.

ALSO, I went for an “anniversary” and they gave us free Key Lime Pie which was VERY good.

Extras:
I came here for
a romantic date

between $25 and $50

Sawmill Taproom

The BEST Burgers and Pasta Salad!!

This is the best restaurant I’ve been to that offers friendly service and GREAT sides along with the burgers. The burgers are what is known for..but my best friend and I ALWAYS eat here when I’m back home from college because we know it has the BEST pasta salad and onion rings.

I’ve tried almost every single burger on the menu and NONE of them were disappointments. I recommend them ALL to you!

Voted best burgers in the Triangle at some point of another, the atmosphere is fun with a large bar on one side and a restaurant style on the other. Perfect for game days or a hangout after work!
