Great Food, Service, and Atmosphere
Zab Thai just opened about a month ago, and I cruised over there for a quiet dinner by myself with a nice read (David Allen, GTD).
I walked in and immediately sensed a great ambience. A waterfall trickles on your left as you walk in, and a beautiful interior spreads before you. The place is clean, the menus are extensive, and the service is great. It reminded me a bit of Lanna Thai.
I’d definitely recommend everybody try this new place out if you’re in the area. It’s on the pricier end of Thai, but well worth it. I hope they stick around for a while.
Dishes I tried:
Chicken Pad Thai
Tastylicious. Spiciness: two stars (out of five) was perfect. A sizable platter. Lime seemed a little dry.
Water
Nice solid glass, cold water. Perfect amount of ice. Refilled promptly.

Excellent Omelettes
This is a nice diner. Their main focus is breakfast, available all day, specializing in omelettes. I’ve eaten two of these babies in the past month — great times. Super-sized portions with big flavors.
The waitresses are very kind and observant. They get things moving along smoothly.
The diner seems to cater particularly toward elderly folks. Staffed mainly by older folks. Hot tip: take your grandparents. I did, and they loved it.
Dishes I tried:
South of the Border Omelette
This is the king of omelettes! Gigantic entree packed with ground hamburger, sour cream, cheese, etc. It’s basically an awesome burrito with a tortilla made out of egg. Comes with some picante sauce to dump on it — perfecto.
Also comes with a giant batch of hash browns, and your choice of various toasts. Awesome tastes!
Meat-Lovers Omelette
This is a sizable omelette. The flavors are not quite as striking as the South of the Border, but still great. Served with large order of hashbrowns and your choice of various toasts. Great times!

Massive Burger Goodness
I had been wanting to try this new restaurant for a while. Whenever I walked by, I saw numerous massive men chomping super-sized burgers — I felt compelled to be counted in their number.
So I journeyed to the hefty, and ordered the #1. Boy, was that ever tasty! Massive double bacon cheeseburger topped with onion rings and the works. A truckload of fries alongside. All the extra sauces you could want readily available. Monstrous muchability.
I also appreciated the local, friendly, honest, family feel of the restaurant. I really liked everyone working at the shop — they just had a good, normal, American feel. Just some folks cooking food for their friends. They have tons of regulars in the shop, and i plan to become one of them.
Dishes I tried:
The Hefty Burger
The burger was tremendous, and tremendously tasty. Cheese melting all over the place, with quality ingredients. Not much sauce on there, but that’s intentional, because they have every sauce you could want available to dump on. Great stuff.
Regular Fries
Just your ordinary, run-of-the-mill wavy fries. Nothing fancy — dip in your favorite sauce and enjoy.

Prompt Service -- Good Grub
The waiters really run around this place. Super quick and smooth. Everything is clean in this place. Nice atmosphere.
I got one of their pastas. The introductory salad was delicious – a very plain green salad. The meal then arrived – the garlic bread is very dry and crunchy. I wish it was chewier and had cheese on it. My spaghetti was tasty, but there could have been a tad more meat sauce, and definitely some cheese on it.
Dishes I tried:
Spaghetti with meat sauce
The meal was very tasty. Meat sauce is good – could be a little sweeter. I’d like more cheese on the spaghetti.
The garlic bread is definitely not that great. Too crunchy. No cheese.

Love the Pastas at Kostas
I had heard some great things about this Greek and Mediterranean restaurant, so I was eager to visit. Arriving, the parking seemed a little awkwardly laid out – you have to circle all the way around the building to get to extra parking. And you don’t want to spend all that time driving around the avocado-lime paint job – gross.
The interior’s ok — clean and lightly adorned. The service is a little… confusing. It’s hard to understand what the waitresses are asking, and they don’t seem too fond to interact with the customer.
The prices are pretty high. But the meals are pretty boss.
Dishes I tried:
Kosta's Favorite Spaghetti
This dish rocks. The noodles are lathered in a bomb butter sauce, coated with fantastic myzithra cheese, and topped with a money meat sauce. Some pepper is freshly ground on top, as you watch in excitement. Twirl fork in spoon and you’re about to ingest some prodigious pasta. Comes with soup or salad.
Greek Salad
2.50 to upgrade the salad from my pasta plate. Came with a couple cucumbers, tomatos, and Kalamata olives. Feta cheese spread all over the place. Smothered in custom Greek dressing. Pretty awesome. Didn’t really like the olives.

Weird, Awful Food
Yuk! This food tastes like weird, burnt barbeque smoky teriyaki. The taste is quite jarring. The teriyaki sauce tastes horrible. Shockingly bad.
The salad was quite tasty, though. The best in South Everett is still Manna Teriyaki, however. Best chicken, best sauce, best salad… best everything.
Dishes I tried:
Beef & Chicken Teriyaki
The chicken was dry and flavorless, and the beef was charred and gristly. Both of these meats are laden with a horrible, smoky, thick, burnt barbeque teriyaki sauce. The same sauce is offered to put on your rice. A miserable meal.
The salad is great, though. Every cloud has a silver lining.

Decent Meal
Pretty ordinary teriyaki restaurant. Standard menu. Standard interior. Standard service.
Beef had tons of gristle. Non-gristly parts tasted good. Chicken was pretty plain. Teriyaki sauce was not great. Salad had good dressing.
Dishes I tried:
Chicken and Beef Teriyaki
Good portions. Gristly beef; avoid this. Chicken was ok — doesn’t come with sauce on top, so be sure to pour some on. Sauce has something strange about it.

Jersey Mike's: Cold is Bold
My follow-up review for this restaurant. Read my previous review for this restaurant here
Forget about the hot subs at Jersey Mike’s. Don’t go there. Get yourself a nice, Giant-sized cold sub, done up the Mike’s way. That red wine vinegar invades every crevice of your freshly baked bun, making magic in your merry mouth.
Today the restaurant was packed packed packed. The staff was firing on all cylinders, and the fountain drinks were a-flowing. This is how you should be able to enjoy a submarine sandwich.
Dishes I tried:
Club Sub (Giant)
This sub is large enough to fill a Matt Hasselbeck-sized hunger. Done Mike’s Way, this is the perfect start to a working man’s week.

15 Years of Great Taste
I’ve been eating at this excellent restaurant since I was 7 years old. I have run the gamut of their menu, with family and friends, for years and years. They have had their ups and downs, but by and large, you will have a good dining experience at the Everett Mall Way Azteca Mexican Restaurant.
Dishes I tried:
Chicken Nachos
This was my mainstay for the first few years of my life. The dish is still pretty money. A little salty, but in a tasty way.
Pork Macho Burrito
This is the best dish in the house. Supersized burrito flooded with green chili verde sauce, and packed with rice, refried beans, cheese, and pork. Scrumptious. Ask for extra sauce — the wetter the better.
Tacos al Carbon
This is a recent favorite of mine. The rice and beans are more than satisfactory, and you get three tacos stuffed with steak, pico de gallo, and cotija cheese. It’s a great package of flavors.
