Pizza History
I went to Lombardi’s on a recommendation from a friend. She had warned me about the long lines since it’s kind of a famous pizza place in New York. Luckily the day I went there was no line and we were sat right when we got there.
The place itself has a very cool feel about it. Kind of cozy and old at the same time. It very much felt like a pizza place, although a cool one at that. And as has been mentioned already here, part of the coolness factor is that it has been recognized as the first pizza place in the U.S.
The pizza itself was good. Not great but good. Traditional ‘New York’ style with the thin crust and very good mozzarella. I have had better at some of the hole in the wall places but that in no way means the pizza was bad. It was good enough that I will go back. Just be aware of the slightly high prices.
Dishes I tried:
Pepperoni Pizza
The Pepperoni Pizza was good. The thin crust and big slices are exactly what you would expect in a NY pizza

Very good BBQ
If your staying in Times Square you definitely have to go try this BBQ. A very cozy place where the BBQ has a good kick to it. If you enjoy spicy BBQ then this is right up your alley. Reasonably priced and a cool place to visit.
Dishes I tried:
Memphis Ribs
I had never tried memphis Ribs before (I’m a baby back ribs kinda guy) so I decided to go with them this time. They were a little overcooked but never the less were really good. The BBQ sauce was a little hot but I’m not a big spicy person so I think that’s just a personal thing.

A little burger goes a long way
I saw the sign go up on this place about a week before it opened and I must say I got a little excited. A new burger place in town? I couldn’t wait to try it.
The decor reminds me of In ’N Out. As you walk in the first thing you notice is boxes of peanuts, which are free and nice to eat while your waiting in line or your food. The menu consists of burgers, hot dogs, veggie sandwich, grilled cheese sandwich, and fries. When you order there are all kinds of toppings you can put on your burger (and they advertise them as free). If you order a burger, fries and drink it can get pricey.
The burgers are a must try and I liked the overall feel of the restaurant. I’m actually more excited about the fact that in Cerritos a burger joint opened up.
Dishes I tried:
Little Cheeseburger
The cheeseburger was awesome. They don’t freeze thier patties and you can taste the freshness in their hamburgers. And don’t let the ‘little’ in the title fool you. The little cheeseburger was just the right size for me. The only gripe I have with thier hamburgers is that they are a little pricey. But all in all a great cheeseburger. An I am going back to try the cheesburger (two patties).
French Fries
Not my style of fries. I was actually a little disappointed. They remnided me of ‘Steak Escape’ fries. They aren’t necessarily bad, just not my kind. They do give you a lot so if you enjoy them you will be in heaven.

I want BBQ!
Whenever I say that to myself in my head (apparently if I say that out loud some people consider it strange) I automatically think of Lucilles. In fact, I want some Baby Back Ribs right now.
The restaurant itself has a very cool feel to it. Very southern and welcoming. Lots of stuff on the walls that will keep you busy for a while.
The service has always been top notch at any Lucilles I have been too. They have a very small bar but a lot of selections (my friend loves the peach cider). Overall a great experience!
Dishes I tried:
Baby Back Ribs
Oh my goodness. Heaven on a plate.
Let’s start off with the BBQ sauce. A very tasty BBQ sauce that’s not too heavy, too sweat, or too spicy. It compliments the ribs perfectly. I want a bottle for my home so I can put it on everything. OK, almost everything.
The ribs themselves are cooked to perfection in thier smoker and just fall of the bone. The pork and rub and BBQ blend together for a great combination That I love. The two sides I usually get with the ribs are the shoestring friens and macaroni and cheese. The fries are one of my favorite fires of any restaurant I normally dine at. The Mac and Cheese is your run of the mill Mac and Cheese. Nothing special there.
OK, that’s enough typing. I’ve made myself hungry and now am going to head to Lucilles and get the Baby Back Ribs…

Good ole southern flavor
This hole in the wall restaurant is easy to miss but really shouldn’t missed by anyone. It has a really cool vibe about it. Peanut shells on the floor, metal bar stools in the shape of saddles, bathrooms that mimic sort of a really big outhouse, friendly servers, a huge American flag, and really big bones you can buy for your large dog on the way out. Everytime I have gone to Johnny Reb’s I have had a great time. I never have to wait long and the food is fantastic. You definitely have to give it a try (the homemade potato chips are the best!)
Dishes I tried:
Baby Back Ribs
These ribs are huge and slathered with great BBQ sauce. The pork comes right off and melts in your mouth. Great tasting and very filling. The only thing I would like to see improved is the rub. But other than that an awesome dish!
Cheeseburger
Top grade beef in between great bread. What more could you ask for? Juicy, perfectly cooked, and I got suffed. Well worth the price.
St. Louis Ribs
I am a huge fan of baby back ribs. Not so much of beef ribs. They just don’t seem to be as tasty, juicy, or come off the bone as easily. I had the same problems with these. As always the BBQ sauce was great, but just not a big fan of the rest.
