The best mussels on the Island !
What a gorgeous spot, right on the wharf in Charlottetown. A little hard to find, hidden behind the CP Hotel, but now that I know my way, I’ll be back. In good weather the outdoor patio is definitely the best seat in the house. Beautiful decor – stainless steel bar – amazing fish and mermaid art (be sure to go upstairs to the bathroom and check the artwork on the way). Food was wonderful – hot and tasty and the best mussels I have ever had. Staff was attentive and friendly – the oyster shucker even talked my children into trying oysters for the first time !
Dishes I tried:
Bombay Mussels
Mussels arrived steaming hot in the greatest dish with a cover that turned into my bowl for the empty mussel shells. Hot, tasty and I practically drank the sauce with a spoon !
Chicken Fried Ribs
My kids loved these and probably could have eaten only these for lunch – except they also loved the french fries and the corn.
Bisque Mussels
This is my husband’s favorite – big chucks of lobster, creamy sauce.
The Granny
The dessert items change regularly with the exception of the lemon meringue I think – depending on what is in season and depending on the kitchen’s whim. The granny on this particular occasion was a shortbread square sort-of bottom with fresh pears and cinnamon topping – AMAZING and a definite keeper on the menu if anyone wants my opinion.
The Cool One
My kids favorite – a huge individual lemon meringue that is sweet and tart and one of the best desserts I have ever had. Big enough for two to share !
