One of the best Chinese Restaurants around
I visited thinking it was just another Chinese place and was surprised by a few exotic items on the menu, but they mostly stuck to the typical Chinese/American food. You know, beef and broccoli and the like. Very polite and involved waitresses, food comes instantly and in abundant amounts. It was a nice setting as well, with bathrooms that were clean each time I visited.
Dishes I tried:
Kung Pao Beef
Well, I ordered the Kung Pao Beef with a Diet Coke to drink and was surprised when I was instantly offered rice, soup, and a salad bar for the ‘lunch special’. Now, the salad bar was just a little stand with salad you would find from a bag with various dressings and no extra toppings, but still. A nice little plus. Well the food was better than most of the other places I’ve ever tried, especially something from Omaha.
Empress Chicken
Dinner I had there and there was no soup, but the salad and rice remained. The prices didn’t jump, either. The second time I ordered the Empress Chicken, the owner had suggested this one along with the Pad Thai meal. It was de-li-cious! The only price jump for this bigger, more elaborate dinner special? A whopping 3 dollars! Fantastic for a student who needs to scrimp and save

Great food...service?
I’ve been here many a time over the years, always the nicest of people. The owner is a friend of my friends, so hes so very polite to us and even comes to chat with us at times. I love the setting, and the prices going down on Friday and Saturday nights after 10pm are an added incentive but…
Whenever I go, I head a foreign group down at UNO. Well, these students enjoy going to eat Japanese cuisine, no matter the nationality, so the group is always quite large.
Here, the problems begin. When you receive your ticket, they are ALL place on the same ticket….once you start pushing a party of 20 splitting that up can take up to an hour (b/c the server can’t do it himself).
So food wise, I could most definitely give this place a 5 star recommendation…but because of this ‘trouble’ we have every single time, I begrudgingly give it only 4 stars
Dishes I tried:
Sushi
Way better than all of the sushi places in town, maybe tying with Sakura Bana, but prices you just can’t beat for sushi in the midwest. Everything from maki rolls to good old sushi to sashimi! Great stuff
Korean BBQ ribs
I dont remember the price at all, i dont usually get it, but my friend orders it everytime and lets me have a ‘taste’ haha. Its great stuff! Even for me, someone who really doesn’t have a taste for BBQ.

Pricy but amazing
The setting alone of this restaurant is enough to surprise any regular to the Japanese cuisine scene. I was surprised not only to find authentic Japanese tatami matt rooms in which you can choose to seat your larger parties, or regular seating. In the regular seating area, there is even a small little koi pond! The food is fantastic and ranges from authentic Japanese food to what you’d expect to find in a Japanese/American restaurant. My goodness…the bento boxed meals…
Now, I haven’t experienced this first hand, but apparently there is a little bar down stairs that serves their renowned ‘mai tai’. My friend even says the drinks are so powerful that they have a 2 mai tai limit. So, check it out for yourself?
