Maybe it’s because I don’t normally eat in this sort of restaurant, but I was impressed. My meal came to my table on a sword – that’s right, a sword – oh, and it was on fire. The risotto was amazing. No dessert for us, no room, but they brought a platter of fruit, nuts, and really good fancy cheese anyway, to round out the meal. I ached for hours afterward because of how much I ate, and I was even splitting all of it.

More delicious desserts than you can possibly imagine. Fruit and Chocolate and Creme… Mmmm… So, you pick out several and they put them in this cute little box all tied up with a string, but the thing is, they need to be refrigerated, and it’s all hot and humid in NYC, especially waiting for the subway… so… oh darn… you have to eat them all right then and there.

For the lunch menu prices, this is a REALLY nice restaurant. Tablecloths, attentive waiters, they even put your napkin in your lap for you. Lunches are $6-12, dinners $12-30. I had some amazing gnochi.

Been here twice, and both times it was amazing. My most recent meal was a pork chop – cooked to perfection – atop green beans, atop this square of potatoes, sort of au-gratin-ish. When I say atop, I mean it. The whole thing was balanced in this sort of tower. Sooooo good. There isn’t much on the menu, but you still have a hard time deciding what to get because it all looks so tasty.

They’re remodeling right now, so it doesn’t look good, but it will. It’s smokey with overpriced pub food, and they no longer have the happy hour chicken strips they used to have. Plus, I was far too thirsty between beverages. There were only 4 people in the whole place, keep the drinks coming!

Used to live around the corner from this place. We’d get a pizza from there every couple of weeks. Always sausage and black olive. Always under the cat’s name. Then we’d walk around the corner and pick it up. Nice and greasy, nice and cheesy. Then one day we just stopped ordering pizza from Gina’s. I have no idea why. Tastes changed maybe? Who knows? Maybe we discovered Zachary’s and never looked back.

Good, juicy hamburgers and greasy fries. Cheesy cartoons taped to the wall to look at while you wait for your order. Free-standing corner building that’s been there forever, and probably will be forever.

I would never have thought to set foot in this place if someone hadn’t said, “No, really, it’s good.” Incredible breakfast. Really great fish sticks. Yeah, that’s right, fish sticks.

More burger than you could possibly want. Especially if you get a bunch of friends together, notify them 48 hours in advance, and order the 5lb. burger to share. Yes, it’s ridiculous. Yes, it’s way too much food. You might just have to do it once, though.
